We came here for a couple of nights and stayed eight! This is a fantastic campsite. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The showers are amazingly strong and hot. The facilities are kept spotlessly clean. The pitches are lovely - you choose where you want to be. They even have pitches with wooden canopies for shelter. There is so much to do in the surrounding area. We enjoyed two visits to the Monfrague Park centre adjacent to the campsite..take earphones so you can listen to the wonderful audiovisual. A bar code reader on your mobile will give you access to all the information in English. We thoroughly enjoyed the half day trip with Valentin to the National Parque. Valentin is a font of information about the birdlife, history of the area, vegetation and so on. It was worth every penny ( euro) and the picnic at the end was fun. With Valentin’s telescope we could see vulture and stork chicks on their nests etc etc. We then retraced the route on two days ourselves. We also visited the adjacent valleys. The Valle del Jerte was wonderful with all the beautiful cherry terraces. There are also many lovely cycle routes near the campsite to be enjoyed. Sitting on the terrace at the bar watching the sunset is idyllic. The shop doesn’t stock a huge variety of items but there is wonderful fresh baguettes every day, planet of eggs, butter, juices, and long life milk, we bought ourselves each one of the walking poles available at reception. They are beautiful, made by local old men as a wee money earner. The only reason we are moving on is we are coming to the end of our holiday and need to head for Santander. Next time we are in Spain we will definitely be back. A fabulous campsite.

We had a warm welcome when we arrived and found both receptionists to be extremely helpful. We chose our own pitch which although there was no grass it had plenty of shade. The facilities were excellent. Had drinks at the bar watching the sunset. Good walking and cycling in the area.

Pitches vary in size, slope and shade but the layout of the site is enhanced by trees and hedges. Showers hot and clean. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Although not birdwatchers we enjoyed watching the family of azure-winged magpies which frequented our pitch. The guided birdwatching trip was well worth it- even with frequent heavy showers. Seeing a group of griffon vultures on the crags with their wings outstretched to dry was unforgettable. Good walking and cycling country. Plasencia has a really interesting old centre and a good Tuesday market. Trujillo well worth a visit as is Cáceres, although it was very crowded on the day we went.

In 40 years of caravanning this is the first site we have felt we could not stop for even an night! Site looked really unkempt with tatty sunshades all over the place. Pitches really small so those staying had taken up 2 pitches. Pool should have been open but was not. Verdict awful site in a lovely area.

This site is in an excellent position to see the Parque National de Monfrague. The staff are very helpful. We had trouble finding a pitch as we are 8m long and there was some tents in the larger flatter pitches. We managed to driver here from Santander as they are open very late.

Stayed en route down to Portugal. Pitches are very tired, as area quite barren. Reception staff, campsite manager and staff in restaurant very helpful. Free wifi. Excellent meals in restaurant. We were allowed to keep our trailer connected and we could use two pitches. Beautiful area. Open all year so can be used as stop over. Caters for late arrivals. Area outside for late arrivals. Will visit again as handy for central Spain.

Great reception staff, really helpful - beautiful setting close to national park - highly recommend the 4hr bird watching safari - great stopping off point - easy to find and access - we will return and spend more time exploring the Parque Nacional de Monfrague.

Nice camp. Initial thoughts were the sites looked run down but we found this location to be superb. Nice and quiet with good well priced food served.
Staff were really good and spoke English.
Ablutions were very good.
Pool not operating when we were there
