Generally Tiny pitches, not enough room for a porch awning on our small caravan, pitches and layout designed for motorhomes, shower/wet rooms good but plumbing poor on basin drainage. Bus stop over the road (pedestrian footbridge) from the campsite. Campsite next to a football ground but no game on when we were there. Pool closed, restaurant open but did not use it, nearest supermarket was Carrefour in Caceres.
The campsite is fine and the individual shower/wash blocks are useful. Nice pitches and we were there when a football game played which was fine. But don't miss out on visiting Caceres old town - stunning historical sites and one of the best plazas in Spain! You can walk there across the hills (1hr brisk walk) or take a bus. Such a shame to use as a stop over South to North and miss a fantastic day!
Yes I would echo the other GB review on here. Not a very welcoming receptionist, good to have your own toilet and shower, a buzzing generator sound all night ! But is was a pleasant site and next to the site running along it and continuing behind - walk for around an hour and get into the centre of Caceres across the hills - this is a good dog walk too ! - receptionist didn't seem to know about it !
A very well laid out site with good facilities including a wet room on all pitches! The staff were friendly and the printed information about bus and local services was excellent. The bus stop is just outside the camp & the bus runs half hourly & costs 1eu. There is an onsite restaurant that has a reasonably priced selection of meals.
This site is easy to reach from the motorway on the outskirts of the town .it is on its own next to a football stadium. A generator in the distance kept us awake so only stayed one night ideal for stopover huge pool and grassed area set menus looked ok. Receptionist not welcoming. Pitches are good size with your own private shower room which is clean. The site for us lacked any atmosphere and isn't very attractive not much but serves its purpose. 1 night was enough for us.
What a great site! As the book states, it's next to a football stadium but far enough away not to cause a problem. We were made to feel very welcome on arrival & were allocated a pitch which we could change if we didn't like. Every pitch has its own private wc & shower which was spotless & cleaned every day - luxury! The local bus service into Town stopped outside the campsite! Perhaps this site won't suit everyone due to its position but we would return.
What a treasure! If only more campsites were like this! Pitches are a good size and each has its own toilet & shower cabin with sink & mirror, electricity & drinking water tap. The pitches are terraced & mostly flat. The pools were large & have large palm trees shading the grassy areas, There is a large children's play area. WiFi was free and worked well. Thoroughly recommended.
Originally thought the site was too basic - next to football stadium; on "via servicio".
However, all staff were very efficient and spoke good English. And it proved to be a great base for this under-visited region.
Arrived at the campsite, a little perplexed by the location as it was adjacent to a large football stadium and a busy dual carriageway yet ACSI had described the location as 'beautiful' ! We thought we would have a brief look around before deciding whether or not to stay. Unfortunately as we walked past reception with our dog, who was on a lead, we were exposed to a tirade of instructions, that we must not enter the campsite without first submitting our passports and to not bring the dog ( the most mild mannered, placid Labrador you could ever encounter) into the office. However the site was ok - clean etc. so we decided to stay a couple of nights because of wanting to visit Caceres which proved to be wonderful ! Unfortunately the staff at reception did not improve - very surly and whenever making any sort of enquiry, we were made to feel we were being a nuisance for interrupting them. Also as others have said, even though the distance from the city was short, it proved very tricky to cycle in. I would look for an alternative site at which to stay if we came again.
Outstanding campsite North of the lovely old town of Caceres. Nothing really to fault this campsite, all facilities are good. We had a fabulous three course meal with a glass of wine for €15 in the evening. Would highly recommend unless you have dogs as apart from around the stadium next door and over the footbridge to the industrial estate, there is nowhere to walk them. There are no pavements immediately outside the campsite. We have come here regularly on our journeys elsewhere. If you have a campingcar, there is an aire de service in town where you can park during the day.
