We visited this campsite two years ago and returned on this holiday as we had been so impressed previously. We stayed two nights. We were not disappointed.. it’s proximity to the Santander ferry makes it a great first stop off. The staff are so friendly and helpful. We unfortunately had a wet day and the campervan got stuck in the mud. But it was no trouble for the staff to help pull us out. (The site would benefit from some hard standing.) The restaurant superb. Prices are excellent. The development of a well stocked shop is a great advance on the previous small shop beside the bar. The campsite is very well placed to visit San Vincent de Barquera and Comillas, a town worthy of a day’s visit, I would highly recommend this site.
On site restaurant good value and quality. Heated toilet block - useful for April. Close to Comillas which is well worth a visit.
VERY helpful staff. good limited menu. pitch more that adequate. VERY enjoyable stay here. plenty to see and do
I would recommend this site to everybody but hope you don’t all come at once as I want to come again. Excellent toilet and shower facilities. Indoor heated pool, outdoor and paddling pools. Small shop that is quite well stocked. We ate in the restaurant last night and the set menu meal was excellent. Some pitch require blocks to level. All the staff I’ve spoken to have been very friendly. 15 minute walk down the back lane to the beach. Bar on the beach was open even this time of year.
Fantastic site, staff go the extra mile every day. WiFi brilliant, and the site is in a great location for visiting the local area. We would revisit in the future
From previous reviews I was surprised to find the pitches were small, very soft ground, and the access roads were very tight (I had to take my caravan around on the mover) . The restaurant was closed for the 3 days we are here. I do not understand where the luxurious is since the campsite is not interested in campers but statics.
Excellent site for visiting surrounding area. Great view if the sun rising on the Pecos mountains at breakfast. 14 metre outfit no problem. Pool large. Restaurant great food including breakfast. Huge beach nearby nearly deserted in October even though it\'s 29 degrees.
An excellent campsite with large grass pitches. Very helpful friendly staff, great views across the valleys and mountains. Excellent restaurant and onsite shop, large central toilet block that was kept spotlessly clean. An excellent site for children or adults, wifi coverage was reasonable, annoyingly it kept logging you out after an hour. Will definitely visit again.
Stayed two years ago so was happy to return. This time it was a stopover having arrived at Santander earlier on the ferry. Very obliging helpful staff. Great bar / cafe with very good prices. Loo & showers well maintained & clean. Happy to recommend - about 45 mins from ferry terminal.
Immaculate facilities, delish local food in restaurant, friendly staff. Terraced site with generous pitches. Pool open - not heated. View of Picos (with snow). Good walking Comillas (Gaudi house/old town/port). Short drive to San Vicente de Barqueros - lovely flat walk and lots of sardines! Not far from Santillana del Mar - ancient town well worth seeing (beware cobbles - not great for wheelchairs) - good tapas!
