This is one of the best sites I can recommend
We have been touring for 5 week’s around Spain and Portugal this has to be one the best. We are touring for forty years and found few to compare.
Staff Brilliant,Food excellent
Very friendly. Arrived in a downpour and had to stop overnight on the hard standing which was great as the normal spaces were well and truly sodden. By the next day all was again dry and we moved to a very spacious pitch. Whole site covered by WiFi Due to circumstances we returned there as well. Food in the restaurant is good for €11.50
We had a lovely 2 night stay here after arriving on the ferry from Santander. A generous pitch for our motorhome and car trailer. I enjoyed a morning swim in the pool cold but refreshing. the showers are lovely and hot and kept very clean. The lovely beach at Camillero was a short 10 minute drive away and we\'ll worth a visit.
This site has separate areas for tourers and permanent vans - the latter was a complete mess ! There is some development taking place so builders\' vehicles buzzing around all the time. We were there before the season got under way so the touring area was fairly quiet BUT a group of around 30 teenagers were staying in bungalows on site and each evening they had a disco or other loud entertainment until well past midnight. Staff were friendly and the restaurant was ok but it was not the best site we have been on. Beware the rainwater gullies which have to be crossed to get on your pitch - they are very deep and we saw one van completely unhitched when the wheels went into the gully.
Very nice campsite and very attentive staff + very clean and neat facilities
Great recycling bin system near the sink area
Would recommend and location is excellent for walks and visit to beautiful Santillana deal mar and the little friendly town of Comillas not far as well from Santander good as a stopover from the ferry for a few nights
Lovely quiet campsite located directly on the Camino; good showers and toilets; pitches were a good size if slightly sloping. Easy drive from the ferry at Santander. Excellent bar / restaurant on site. Reception staff really friendly and helpful. About 800 metres from the village accessible either along quiet road or from walks through lovely woodland; would recommend the raciones at Meson Ocho.
Stayed here for a couple of days before boarding the ferry. Great site for visiting San Sebastian. Small pitches but we fitted in fine.
Friendly site with slightly confusing pitch locations! some pitches were two deep but with access only from the front. It meant you could find someone camping directly behind you or in front of you! We were fine but we saw this happening near us. The site has a lot of permanent chalets and caravans owned by the locals so be warned there could be an invasion on friday afternoon lasting until sunday evening ! You couldn't get in the pool over the weekend. To be fair it was a quiet site during the week and suited us fine. The area is very interesting with good beaches at comillas and interesting towns like santillana and suances to visit. The toilet block was nice and clean with plenty of hot water. We stayed five nights and would go again if we were in the area, but idealy only monday to friday.
Campsite set in mature grounds with trees and grass pitches. Tourers well away from permanent residents so quiet as particularly weekends can be very noisy with the Spanish using the site.
Supermarket only open weekends but the bar man will open upon request, however , he did not speak any English making it difficult to communicate. Fresh bread available.
Facilities dated but clean and there was plenty of hot water.
The area in the vicinity is beautiful with the opportunity to explore the surrounding area and I would highly recommend this site.
Lovely staff, particularly helpful young lady came to sort out our pitching difficulties. We were directed to a choice of 3 pitches, non of which were in fact available, then unable to access other suggestions.
The difficulty was caused by people departing late or pitching on own choice of pitch. The reports about some long pitches are no longer true as they have been divided in half - front and back of pitch so everyone understandably takes the outer pitch in case they get blocked in. The system just does not work unless rear pitches are kept for tents and not allocated to caravans or motorhomes.
However a lovely site once pitching was achieved, immaculate toilets, pool looked good but they seem to enforce a swimming cap rule so we were unable to use it.
Menu looked good in restaurant and we had good reports of it but we had food to use up before ferry so did not use it - Next time maybe
