Very friendly and welcoming reception. English spoken. A great site for motorhomers as local public transport is good. We cycled into Orio (5 mins), locked our bikes at the train station and went to San Sabastien and, on another day, to Zumaria. Facilities at campsite excellent, clean and plentiful. Beach and bars just outside the site. Some of the pitches might be a bit tricky to access due to narrow side roads in the campsite but all are flat and level.
Reception staff very friendly & helpful. We were able to choose our own pitch. Very level site. Toilet block was kept exceptionally clean at all times whilst we were there for the three days. Nice large toilet & shower cubicles with plenty of hot water in showers. Washing up sinks, only two with hot water though. We didn\'t use the restaurant, but it was always busy. Beach or harbour are just a few mins walk. Orio village is just a level mile away with regular buses & trains to Donostia / San Sebastián, well worth a visit.
The campsite is a short walk from Orio, which has a railway station. We took the train to Donostia/San Sebastián. It\'s a 25 minutes rail journey and excellent value for money. Donostia is a beautiful town with a fantastic beach and lovely pintxos (the Basque equivalent of tapas) bars.
Hot showers and clean bathrooms. The parking was flat and WiFi reached our campsite. Nice location walking distance to Orio and buses to San Sabastian and Bilbao.
This site has good, flat pitches and is very well located for walks to the beach, harbour and coast path. It is an easy, level walk into town and there is a regular and inexpensive bus and train service to San Sebastian and Bilbao. The site staff are especially helpful and the cleaning regime is exceptional. Although we don\'t personally use the site sanitary facilities (rather use our own) we had a good view of the long facilities block from our pitch and could see the cleaners working from one end to the other continually throughout the day. The only drawback is that some pitches are tricky to access for longer motorhome because of the awkward placing of the pitch marker posts.
Camping Orio is indeed within sight of the motorway but the noise is not intrusive. An easy walk in to the town or to the beach with a magnificent cliff walk. San Sebastián is easy to get to. The site is well maintained and the staff extremely helpful, from recommending a garage to a hairdresser!
A nice site, albeit a bit breezy at times. Friendly, helpful staff. Easy walk into town where there is a good supermarket. Easy access to local walks, including the Camino de Santiago (coastal route). Good local rail link (25 minutes) into San Sebastian. Pizzas from the local restaurant/bar ok in an emergency. Only down-side was the motorway flyover nearby which was could be a bit noisy.
The welcome here was fine and reception staff were friendly with good English. The site is at the mouth of the river and very close to the autoroute exit. You can actually see the autoroute from the pitches - it crosses the valley on a bridge - however the noise was not intrusive. Facilities were kept clean though as they seemed to be unheated the water was not my version of hot. The pitches (grass) were fine with water and electrics close. The town of Orio has plenty of small shops and the coast can be walked from the site easily. There is a railway trough Orio which serves Bilbao and San Sebastian so it would be a good place to use to visit anywhere along the line. The onsite food was not really impressive when we were there. We would go back there.
Visited here 10/03/2015. Excellent campsite. Showers & toilets V high standard. Staff V friendly. Lovely town. Great business & train to San Sebastian. Definitely visit here again.
Excellent campsite, friendly staff, clean facilities & would absolutely go back. Near lovely beach & bar. Town 5 min walk.
