The camp is just 15 minutes by bicycle from the old town, which is a bit and very nice.I recommend it to you.
We also take a boat tour along the river and it was great. We also visited Alboretum, which is only 20 minutes away and ther is really a lot of beautiful flowers. When we will come back from Croatia we will again stop in Ljubljana, comfortable place
An excellent site with brilliant hard standing pitches for motorhomes. Toilets and showers good though a bit dated. Easy access via bus to Ljubljana which stops just outside site.
We intended to stay for two nights but stayed over a week in the end. Good location as easy to get bus into centre, by buying tickets in reception. Had a few issues when we bought wifi but reception wifi is free and works well. We were given across to the swimming pool which is spacious. Surrounding area good for walks, cycling and shops nearby, including EuroSpin.
All though on the edge of the city, there are lots of hedges and trees making the site feel more rural. Facilities good. Free Wi-Fi at reception (there is a seating area), or cheap day rates all over the site. A short bus ride into town. You buy tickets from reception. There is a small extra "registration fee', on top of the normal taxes.
We stayed herefor 8 days on acsi,we found it to be a great handy site to visit the centre, supermarkets near a good cycle lane network. We never used the restaurant but the food always looked good but prices are not cheap. The staff were great, wifi free if you stay 3 days . motorhomes are separated from tents which is good. .....would recommend.
Staff very helpful and friendly bus service outside camp
To city centre which is beautiful great market and cafes
Ljubljana is a lovely place! Had a great 4 night stay. The toilets and sinks are clean. The showers are clean but the water pressure is very low! The gents showers do not have a fixed head. Following earlier reviews, we were concerned about the facilities and nearly changed our plans. We found the site perfectly OK and would happily stay again. There is an excellent cheap bus service from just outside the site to the city... it runs every few minutes. You will need to buy tickets from the site reception person return.
In a great location for visiting the city which should not be missed. Regular bus service from the gate and cycle path straight in to the centre for competent cyclists. The cycle path runs by the side of the road which can be a hairy, The site were offering a guided cycle tours of the city for free offered by local born member of staff. It was very informative (tips to the guide were gratefully received)
First impressions were of a nice campsite with excellent hardstandings for motorhomes. We were told to park on a gravelled pitch on our arrival and were impressed by the size. We were not told that some of the pitches were double and we didn't realise as they are not numbered. We were somewhat disappointed, as we were about to eat our evening meal, to be asked to move over to accomodate another van. This caused us a lot of work as we were already on chocks, had a padlock through our front doors and electric plugged in. The other van didn't stay in the end as their electric cable wouldn't reach. There are few electric points so you may need an extra long cable if you are on the end of a row. The only hose for water appears to be by the motorhome service point so if you want to fill up you need to know this beforehand.
The men's toilets were dirty on the occasion I visited, they smelled and a toilet lid was hanging off. Ok, this could just mean that they were due to be cleaned. The ladies toilets, according to my wife, were fine.
There is free wifi at reception and in the restaurant but you can pay for 24 hours or longer. However, having paid our money, the internet packed up and being a Sunday, we had to wait until Monday for the problem to be sorted. They did refund our money, but as we are travelling long term and the internet is our lifeline, this was inconvenient. I should add that the restaurant wifi but not the reception wifi continued to work during this period. If you are after a peaceful stay, June may not be the best month to stay as they were doing a lot of work I assume to get the site ready for peak season. On a Sunday evening at 8pm they were using a machine right next to a motorhome to move wood from one spot to another. It was very noisy and they had already been strimming grass most of the day. I know these jobs have to be done, but preferably when people are out for the day and not on a Sunday evening.
I know it all sounds negative and I think we may have just been unlucky as the site itself is attractively presented, is close to the river and has excellent links to Ljubljana. However, I think it is important that you hear all opinions, good or bad. It may be that as their main source of income is the peak months and that as ACSI members are getting it cheaper, they feel that we should accept these issues but all it's done is stopped me from wanting to stay here again. The final thing I would like to say is that the ACSI guide states that they accept payment by credit card and indeed there is a credit card pad in reception. However I was asked to pay by cash and was told that there was a cashpoint machine available next door.
This site is a city stopover more then a holiday destination. Motorhome pitches are clearly marked out and the wooden barriers lift out to make parking easier (you have to see them to understand) Toilets /showers are not the best we have found (in fact they let the place down, clean but worn out and need modernising, and no way was 4 toilet cubicles enough for the number of men using the site in June, what most it be like in August!)
Easy to get bus into Ljubljana from site entrance.
