Nice site to visit the city. Bus outside site on the main road. Tickets were available at reception. Pitches were adequate. Price was higher because of local and national taxes.
Positives: Reception staff friendly and helpful, handy for bus service into city. Negatives: Not enough staff on reception (1) to process the amount of Customers waiting. Toilet and shower blocks outdated and rundown - no hook for shower heads? The advertised ACSI price is extremely misleading - the actual price was really more! - 4 additional taxes adding the extra 11 - sorry but that is close to dishonest in my opinion! ACSI you really need to address this sort of issue. Swimming pool was closed and no experience of sports facilities, food and drink or child frienliness so scored mid range. Overall a bit of a rip-off at the price.
This was advertised in the CCA guideeason so I was very surprised to pay much more!! It seemed that the price in the guide was just for the pitch and then I had to pay for each person, a tourist tax, a garbage eco charge. Not honest in my opinion. The facilities were OK, the river walk was closed as there was heavy machinery working and the restaurant was very expensive. When we checked out we were told that the acsi discount was only available with cash so we went and got the cash. We only used it as a stopover and will not be back.
This is a great stopover to visit Ljubljana. The pitch we were allocated was in the motorhome section which was fine but not spacious. We stayed at the beginning of July and there were loads of free spaces. Perhaps our only negative was similar to previous reviews, in that the toilet facilities were dated , showers for instance were all broken so had to hold the spray. These could be fixed at minimal cost. The toilets did smell and the lights were not on until evening so looked dark and dingy. The positive was that Water was very hot. The bus into Ljubljana is at the site entrance . We took advantage of the free 11am tour which was about 2hrs, the guide was first class so gave a good tip. This is a lovely city, go and enjoy.
We were really looking forward to staying here but felt very let down by it. We found the staff very offhand and unhelpful. The pitch was nice and big and flat. The showers and toilet facilities were disappointing. They are old and need refurbishing but were clean. We ate in the restaurant which was very old fashioned and reminded us of late 1970s Yugoslavia. The portions were very large but we enjoyed our meal. The bus to Ljubljana is very convenient but as there were roadworks it was diverted and we missed our stop so be careful. The really bad point of this site was the cost.
Apart from the restaurant there is little to recommend this site /toilet shower facilities are in need of a complete update .they also charged me for a discount ACSI night which I queried but they said the charge was correct not recommended unless you wish to visit Ljubljana.
We read mixed reviews for this site so wasn’t sure what to expect. ‘Ljubljana Resort’ sounds quite luxurious, but the reality is somewhat different. When we arrived it was very busy. Campervans queuing to get into the site were causing grid lock which was backing up onto the road outside. I think there was some sort of Dutch camper club meet going on. There were queues at reception on all four occasions I visited, and only one person dealing with everybody. The situation wasn’t helped by the backlog that builds up while reception is closed between 12-2pm. The reception staff spoke English but weren’t especially welcoming. The pitches are fairly small and close together, but hard standing and level with quite a bit of shade - perfectly adequate. Electric points are few and far between, if you are pitched at the beginning or end of a row you may need a very long cable to reach one. As others have commented, the toilet/shower blocks are well past their best and need refurbishing. For example, the bracket holding the shower head to the wall was missing in every male cubicle. It wouldn’t take somebody longer than an hour or so with a drill and screwdriver to fix that. At least the showers were hot. If you walk to the nearby shops take care, most cyclists use the narrow pavements as do some mopeds and scooters when the traffic isn’t moving - dangerous. We didn’t use the restaurant as the menu wasn’t very appealing and seemed expensive. Wifi chargeable after only 15mins free use. Bus service into Ljubljana from outside the site entrance is frequent. This site is ok for a short stopover simply because of location and ease of transport into Ljubljana. However, when all the additional charges it increases the ASCI rate by almost 40%, then they insist on cash payment only! This site offers the absolute minimum for what it charges. I’m not sure it genuinely belongs in ACSI because it’s headline price is deliberately misleading and outside the spirit of the scheme.
Stayed two nights when we visited Ljubljana; can’t complain about the site which was busy but fine. Compared to all the other ACSI sites we have used this is the most expensive by the time they add taxes.
Ljubljana is a lovely place! Had a great 4 night stay. The toilets and sinks are clean. The showers are clean but the water pressure is very low! The gents showers do not have a fixed head. Following earlier reviews, we were concerned about the facilities and nearly changed our plans. We found the site perfectly OK and would happily stay again. There is an excellent cheap bus service from just outside the site to the city... it runs every few minutes. You will need to buy tickets from the site reception person return.
We spent 4 nights at this site as a base for visiting Ljubljana and the coast. We had a comfortable pitch and enjoyed our stay. There was a themed motorcycle & motorcar rally held on site over the weekend which was noisy.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
