Excellent site, but whatever your sat nav says, do not turn off the main road until you see the camping sign! Really enjoyed our stay here, but marked it down on staff friendliness because of one person - the owner\'s son. He has the charm of Basil Fawlty and the skills of Manuel. And sadly he was behind the bar during our stay... A brief illustrative anecdote - we ordered our meal and a bottle of wine our first night. Five minutes later, no wine. Queried with Basil - \'what\'s the matter with you, you\'re on holiday you can wait ten minutes\'. Sat down, asked again five minutes later - \'we have no glasses\'. So I fetched my own... Later that evening another unfortunate went to ask where his dinner was, ordered at 7.30 (this was was 9.00). No apology, just took his order again. The guy may have mental health issues, but he really shouldn\'t be allowed front of house. By contrast, Geoff and his partner in the restaurant were charm and efficiency personified. But after all that, site still highly recommended!

Great site. Lots of space, pitch up where you wish. Grass and trees make a very pleasant setting. Great walks around the roads and tracks near the campsite. Easy cycling along the paths all the way up the coast. Easy walk into town. Great value.

Only stopped 2 nights here, but good clean facilities. No marked pitches which we like, under the trees. Ate at the restaurant first night and had a superb sword fish.

At first sight not too impressed but actually a really nice site. Cycle paths nearby that are off road to local town. Pick your own place not necessarily marked put plenty of room. Toilets clean. Didn’t use the restaurant. Beautiful beaches nearby and supermarket walkable.

Whatever you do, DO NOT follow sat nav directions from the N305. The R. de Santa Luzia is completely unsuitable for a motorhome. Instead, access the site from the N13(signposted).
This is a pleasant, quiet site with good security. The owner is friendly but doesn’t speak much English. However, there is a young lad about in the evenings who speaks very good English. Large sandy beach within walking distance and a supermarket nearby (about 15mins walk). The walk into the local town with a few restaurants/bars/shops takes about 30 mins on a level board walk avoiding busy roads. WiFi is good, sanitation blocks clean and all in good working order.
I am happy to recommend this site.

Excellent campsite with friendly and helpful staff. Cycle ride to ancora beach and town 10 minutes. Also cycled to caminha along cycle route as far as Praia moledo then through trees. Restaurant on campsite very reasonable and good especially the pork. Will definitely stay here again

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Having read the reviews we were apprehensive of visiting this site – it just shows you need to be circumspect and open minded. This site is truly magnificent with wonderful staff who in the tradition of all Portuguese are most kind, helpful and polite.
Yes, the grass pitches are not defined but there is ample space in which to locate yourself under the numerous eucalyptus trees. The facilities are scrupulously clean and there is plenty of hot water at all times for the showers, although only on a couple of the sinks. Water is available at numerous points around the site although very low pressure!! Waste bins are provided throughout the site. The park is maintained to a high standard and kept meticulously clean and tidy.
The nearby village of Vila Praia Âncora is very attractive with small shops and good bars and restaurants. It also boasts an attractive beach. Close by, back out onto the main A13 is situated an Intermarche which should satisfy all your shopping needs. Take a trip northwards to Caminha and also up to Ponte de Lima and southwards to Viana do Castelo, neither will disappoint.
If we have any criticism it is that the electricity is what is now becoming the norm 6amps so restricts the use of additional gas-saving cooking equipment.
We must also mention in particular Rui, the receptionist, who’s particular attention made our 10 day stay so memorable. Thank you.

Lovely campsite. Quiet in September. Unmarked pitches amongst Pine and Eucalyptus trees with plenty of space. Toilets and showers clean and tidy. Toilet paper, but no soap. Plenty of hot water for showers and washing up. WiFi on the pitch. 10amp electricity. All this for the ACSI rate per night. Nice bar/restaurant. Limited menu, but very nicely presented and good size portions. Fabulous value - we had 2 starters, 2 mains, a beer, a very nice bottle of Douro red and 2 coffees and just 3 minutes walk from our pitch! Will definitely return.
