Travelling party: Seniors

We did not stay, access to the site extremely challenging in motorhome. Very narrow bendy downhill slope on cobblestones. Site looked closed as no-one appeared to be there although there were small caravans. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO GO IN MOTORHOME OR LARGE CARAVAN.

Derek Hellier, on this campsite in October 2018

Travelling party: Seniors

Access to the site is a nightmare. We were guided in and met with a very gruff welcome. Once in with motorhome we could not go out until guided out the next day. Felt quite trapped in. Only stayed one night. Pitches not marked, like a free for all. Campers not that friendly perhaps they are mostly regulars. Must say we had a friendlier farewell than welcome.

Travelling party: Couple

The descriptions of the site on here and in the book need additions. In the book it mentions phoning the site to get the owner to guide you in. You might think this is because a sat nav cannot find it. Not true. On here this advice is not even given.
This site has VERY DIFFICULT ACCESS. Narrow, winding, cobbled and STEEP down, let alone getting out again. Plus people park awkwardly on the route. This is the old Roman lane to the river. If you have a vehicle you really care about or are of a worrying disposition, then avoid this site. A shame as it does have lovely views. You need good knees to make the most of the area too.
Toilet seats, loo paper and hand soap would make welcome additions. All the Dutch and Belgian guests made us feel welcome.

Mick Salter, on this campsite in July 2017

Travelling party: Seniors

This is a nice site with spectacular views, toilet facilities are clean and tidy with plenty of hot water. Access to the site is its biggest downfall, it is a very narrow and twisted cobbled lane which goes downhill very steeply. Normally I would think twice taking my Land Rover in, let alone with a large caravan on the back. The owner meets you in town and guides you in and in places, actually inch by inch, thankfully when you leave, he tows your caravan into the town.
