Great campsite for access and visits to Florencce with a local bus from just outside the gates (tickets from the campsite office). The pitches are terraced, level and with ample room. Some interesting walks in the local area on which we met local people who were friendly and helpful (an artist and sculptor and a lovely lady who specialised in developing hybrid lilies) with time to talk and make you feel welcome.
We arrived at the site on Thursday afternoon, we booked in at reception as was shown the site prices to which we agreed, the lady on reception called a colleague and asked him to take us to our pitch. The past few days had received a lot of rain and due to this we was told that due to the size of our Motorhome we had to pitch up in the car park as the pitches had lots of water on them and we would get stuck and sink in the mud. This was fine, it wasn’t our fault or the campsites fault for the weather. We was told we would be moved in the morning. During the evening more and more Motorhomes were added to the car park, so close to ours that we couldn’t put our awning out or sit outside or get our scooter out of the van. The following day was spent in Florence so we never saw anyone about moving. On the Saturday morning we went to pay for our 2 nights stay in a car park and was charged the full price of a proper pitch! Yes we had electric hook up and yes we used the shower facilities however the stay in the car park was not what we had booked up for. When we questioned the cost and told them of our experience we was told we had to complain when we arrived and not when we went to pay! We are not a couple who complains ever! However we do except value for money and paying €58 for staying in a car park was a joke. After a heated conversation we was told we had to pay the full price. I feel that this campsite was more focused on profit instead of customer satisfaction. We will not be returning
Acsi does not apply unless it is a small pitch. We were told on arrival but there were some very upset Dutch visitors who only found out on departure. Good information for getting in to Florence but finding the bus to get back was more tricky - make sure you get good instructions from reception.

Lovely site in the hills
Lots of noise from nearby Toll road which is a real shame as this is a lovely site
Toilets and showers seem very new so very very clean and tidy.
Very very clean pitches and lots with grass although ours was a bit dusty...
Food fired oven lit every day for wood fired pizzas which unfortunately we did dot try due to the very high prices charged which is a shame.
The site is very isolated so you are a captive ordinance for food etc.
The the pool which is super but! we are made to wear bathing caps which are really chap.
I wore mine and felt a bit silly but when in Rome as they say
Not everyone wore there caps as this was not strictly enforced but i feel it is rather outdated and should be relaxed because this is the only place in Italy it is enforced....
They say it is because of hair gel etc. but i said what about body lotions and deodorants. they just shrugged there shoulders.
This need reviewing we feel.
All in all a good 5 days was had by us both
Kinda expensive, but Italy seems more expensive than other countries. Nice shady pitch. Clean, super nice bathrooms with plenty of hot water. Very friendly staff that spoke good English. Bus leaves for Florence just outside entrance, can buy ticket at reception. Pool weird, they require you to wear a swim cap! I just wore baseball cap. Never heard of this anywhere else. For visit into Florence it was perfect.
This an excellent, site very convenient for visiting Siena, the local buses stop at the site entrance during the morning and afternoon, very convenient when staying on the site with a motorhome. Clean well managed with plenty of space set in a rural area surrounded by trees. Wifi is free and covers the whole site
We were here in mid-October. The only section open was beside the motorway with constant traffic noise, the pool was closed and both the shop and bar might as well have been - if you wanted a drink at the bar you had to find someone first. The shop was grossly overpriced - somewhat aged tomatoes were being offered at 50 cents per tomato! Luckily there is a village shop 5 mins walk into Cellai. Forget Troghi - the walk is along a road with no pavements for most of the way and there is little there (I didn\'t try the butcher). This site is ideal for visiting Florence since the bus leaves from near the village shop - otherwise it is overpriced out of season. The restaurant has a restricted choice other than pizza since several dishes are for 2 people. The waitress insisted on speaking English despite our attempts to speak Italian (we live in Italy!) - and whilst she may believe she is gifted she merely come over as stroppy! On the first night I was offered gluten-free pasta by the waiter and asked for it again a few nights later. She was downright rude when telling me there was none - without having enquired in the kitchen. There wasn\'t so the only option left? A salad. In Tuscany...
Fantastic place, amazing people and great atmosphere!! We were there with family and friends. Staying was enjoyable, we had a great time in Il Poggetto!
