Not quite as it looks in the pictures as there was no grass to be seen. Pitches not clearly marked so just park and hope for the best. The ‘beach’ was grim. Not clean, lots of graffiti and we didn’t even sit down. It’s also a good 15 minute walk with no shuttle offered. There are nicer beaches a little further away. The toilet facilities were spotless however with unlimited hot water. The old town of Albenga is lovely and Alassio too is well worth a visit.
Pitches not marked out terribly well. The facilities are spotless and v well equipped. Two supermarkets in walking distance. The nearby ‘beach’ is tiny, shabby and grubby. Strewn with rubbish and graffiti. The pool looks great but was closed ( in spite of being advertised as open). The site manager is delightful altho a tad eccentric. This is a great site for visiting the old town of Albenga and the coastal town of Alassio.
Facilities very good but the sites ethos is to cram as many onto the site as possible with only a few feet between neighbours with no privacy whatsoever. We were also charged 50 euros for one night but given this was for the pitch and three persons was reduced to 40 euros but still a rip off by comparison to many other sites we stayed at during our month in both Italy and France. We shall not be returning.
Overall a very good site with some of the best sanitary/washing facilities you’ll find on any site. The staff are very friendly and speak some English.
The campsite plan provided when you arrive makes little sense, so you just pitch in an area that seems ok and hope you’re not encroaching on others or blocking somebody in. There are some bungalows on site, but the majority of the space is given over to campers. It’s a level site with plenty of shade, but some pitches are quite small and there are plenty of trees and overhead branches to negotiate which can make it a bit tight with a large motorhome or caravan.
The large swimming pool (plenty of loungers) and on-sight restaurant are good, the latter also providing essentials and daily bread. There is a nice sun terrace with plenty of loungers. Two supermarkets are located within easy walking distance - Mercado & Lidl. There are no pavements and narrow roads/traffic, so care needed when walking, especially with children.
The pitches alongside the road are very noisy, particularly in the morning and early evening. The noise from the stream of cars, lorries and motorcycles stopping/starting at the nearby crossroad junction is tiresome. The back of the site is further from the road and therefore quieter. I recommend you pitch there if you can.
WiFi is chargeable and so slow it’s hardly worth bothering with.
Apart from the the sandy/stoney beach on a sunny day, the local town (Ceriale) probably won’t keep you occupied for long, but Albenga a few miles to the east is a much more interesting town to visit.
I would happily stay here again, but not near the front of the site.
We stayed two nights in late May. Good facilities, campsite clean, nice pool although deep,( I would say 6 feet), so was cold. There is a child's pool too. Lovely new mesh loungers. Ate at the restaurant one evening. Very nice fritto misto. Rode into Albengo which is very interesting with some lovely cafes and clothes shops. Much more upmarket than Ceriale.
Very busy site end of May fairly jammed packed. Lidl very close, surrounded by pot plant growers. Beach fairly non existent small and full of debris. Ok overnight stop. Facilities good.
A lovely campsite, staff very friendly. Toilets lovely and clean and good showers, a separate cubicle for your clothes. Staff very friendly on reception and in the bar. Food good although limited i. e pizza, pasta, a few meat dishes and a few fish dishes. Surrounding area not very nice but if you just staying overnight or are not really bothered in going out this site is great. Pool very clean, children's play area.
There are few recommendable sites along this Italian coast and this one is one of the better ones. It was nearly full in the middle of May and the only pitches available were difficult of access and leave from due to some unfortunately placed trees which are obviously need for shade. The star of the site are the toilets and pool and the bar and restaurant looked tempting and popular although not used by us. The downside of this site is the nearby beach which can only be described as a disgrace with litter and debris everwhere which is a pity as I would definitely stayed at the site much longer had this not been so.
We loved it here. Very helpful owners and a great info pack on arrival with details of local markets etc.
Lovely toilet block.
Very handy for shopping with Lidl and Familia supermarkets close by to walk to.
Wifi is to pay.
Our pitch was at the bottom of a field between lots of trees. The grass hadn't been cut for a while and out of each window we overlooked old, tired caravans that haven't been moved for years. The site is run by a brother and sister who are trying to improve things but the town will always let it down. It's very industrial and full of greenhouses growing plants for commercial purposes. The beach was shingle and dirty. A very nice bakery on site.
