We chose site as shown to give ACSI discount as they don\'t have any 6 amp electric which is what they quote for ??!!
Site a little run down and old looking, nice outlook over the lake.
For us a one night stopover as 20 minutes walk to small town.
We had chosen this site as it said there were Watersports we asked if we could launch our canoe told no. We were happy to pay launch fee. As another reviewer mentioned light sensor in shower block can go off whilst showering. Also if you want electricity you will be charged an extra €. Also had difficulty getting wifi walked round site to no avail, but this could have been due to bad weather. We had a cooked breakfast on Sunday in site restaurant the only time it opens.
A pleasant site with good facilities. Some traffic noise from the N3 which runs along the edge of the site. Beware: the motion sensor which controls the lights in the sanitary block doesn't detect movement inside the shower cubicles, so you're liable to be plunged into darkness halfway through your shower. The camp restaurant appears to be a myth; it wasn't open when I was there, and showed no sign of having been open recently.
The toilet & shower facilities are little better than you would find in a town for the general public. There does not seem to be any security as i saw numerous cars drive around this site, day & night . Very overpriced for what is on offer. Will not use this site again. I spoke with French & Dutch motorhomers who both said it is no better than an aire.
We have traveled allover Europe & have been on countless ACSI sites & without doubt this by far the worst. High cost, low standards, rip-off.
This is not the way to promote tourism in Ireland.
