Good restaurant with terrace on the lake and lovely views of the mountains. Many cycling and walking opportunities into the mountains from the site. Trips to Salzburg, Passau and Munich. A very warm welcome on arrival. We chose this site over the ones on Chiemsee and we're not disappointed. We were allowed to choose our own pitch. The lake water was lovely and warm even in early June. Good cycling around the lake and excellent position for day trips to Chiemsee, Saltzburg by train or bus, and Betchesgaden and the Eagles Nest. Views of the Alps from the site. Waging am See has a lidl and Norma supermarkets as well as lots of excellent local shops. A lovely area and very good site.
Arrived late but was no problem staff so helpful toilets the best we have had really lovely hot showers.Cycling great and well sign posted. Would definitely use again
We arrived at this campsite on 19/06/15. We had driven from Berlin and arrived late afternoon. We were warmly greeted by the gentleman on reception who was very kind and helpful. The campsite comes with all you can use hot water in the toilet blocks and free wifi which we found quick without any issues.
The campsite is in a stunning location. We had pitch 154 which is about 50 metres from the lake. The water is clear like bath water and the whole camping area is very quiet and peaceful. Road is about 200 metres away but is not a main road.
We walked 5 minutes to Taching am see and went for dinner in the restaurant next to the church at the top of the hill. We had 2 large rump steak dinners and 2 large beers. Fantastic food honestly, great setting over looking the lake.
I would highly recommend this campsite. Salzburg was easy to get to by either car and train and information centre is in the next village over in waging am see which tells you how to get to Salzburg.
All in all very good.
