Freiburg Camping Hirzberg is a campsite with 85 touring pitches and 12 year round pitches. During low season, between 02-09-2021 - 31-10-2021 and 07-11-2021 - 22-12-2021, the nightly rate is €20,- at one of the 85 touring pitches at Freiburg Camping Hirzberg in Freiburg (Baden-Württemberg). At this campsite you can not only use your CampingCard ACSI for inexpensive camping, you can also use your ACSI Club ID (as an alternative ID).
The campsite is located on a hillside under trees. Almost in the middle of the town, 15 to 20 minutes walk to centre, but still quiet. You can even get breakfast from the shop. Plenty of opportunities for walks from the campsite.

Very lucky to get a pitch, so book in advance. Arrived late afternoon for a 2 night stay. Had to move to another pitch for second night. A good 30 minute walk to Freiburg. Lovely city with lots to do and see. The San Facs are first class. Staff excellent.

We arrived just before midday and were one of the last motorhomes to get a pitch, so I do advise you to book. The pitches were very close together and it felt like being on an aire rather than a site. It is in a great position, relatively near the old town with the The receptionist was very helpful and gave us a town map, suggesting that we might want to visit the market next to the minster before it closed. We also walked to the schlossberg in the forest behind the campsite. There is a stunning view from the top of the tower. The toilet and shower facilities were clean, modern and warm.

Near to city Center 20 min walk or cycle along the nearby canal, bike trail FR1. If no reservation made need to arrive before noon for any chance of a pitch. Good amenity block and sitting area under cover. Small shop. Pub/ cafe adjacent, bread can be ordered the night before. We went to Keidal mineral thermalbad using bike paths FR1 & FR2 ( about 7 miles). Extensive complex of mineral pools at varying temperatures, lots of recliner chairs and good cafe, can easily spend a full day there just take a towel costume and a good book. Visited a house brewery (Ganter) which is by the canal 10 mins by bike for excellent beer and food. Camp reception staff very helpful loaned maps and answered all queries. Would definitely return

Had seen reviews suggesting staff unfriendly and pitches difficult. Something must have changed, staff are delightful, and whilst yes the pitches are tight, people still have their awnings out Tec. Brilliant base for visiting!

Well located site but a little further from the town than the general description might suggest. Friendly helpful staff.

An excellent spot to explore Freiburg as the site is within easy, flat walking distance (c. 20 mins along the riverside) of the old town. As with most city sites, the pitches were very small and crowded. Pitches are allocated. As it's in the city, it was very busy even in May, so worth considering booking in advance. Reception staff very helpful. Toilets and showers were fine and kept clean. Good walks from the site, into the forest as well as the city. Overall a good city stop, but not ideal for sitting out and enjoying the view! Access is a little tortuous and can be busy, but sign-posted.
