Very friendly at reception. Good size pitch, slightly sloping but level laterally. Grass a bit long. No waste water disposal nearby so people were draining into hedge. Great facilities. Dated but clean. Loads of hot water! Pool looked great. Nice bar for food and drinks overlooking the pool and great view of the Château which is only a 30 minute walk away.
I had the best steak on the menu Sirloin, but it was full grizzly hard bits. I mentioned it to the staff, I paid for it and left
Stayed for an overnight stop- would have stayed longer if the weather had been better. Large site with good size pitches. Sanitary very good- outer toilets but toilet paper provided
We were a bit disappointed – don’t really know why: it’s got good sized plots, the plots are separated by nice leafy hedges, the grass is a bit scrappy but we’ve seen worse, lots of trees so it would be nice and shady in hot weather: hmmm we just can’t put our finger on it.
While we were eating our lunch a bull finch came and hovered about a foot in front of the table having a good look to see what was on offer!. It spent a lot of the afternoon hopping around our feet and hovering in front of us looking for stuff to eat presumably. At lunch I threw a bit of baguette which it was fairly ambivalent about – huh! It was just amazingly tame.
Went for dinner in the site’s restaurant: we both had pizza; both were lovely - cooked in a wood fired oven. But overall it was a bit of a scrappy restaurant. The walls were made of chipboard which, I’d guess, someone thought was really trendy or something but it just looked like it wasn’t finished or it was really intended for a builder to store his tools in.
Lovely peaceful site with excellent service from the staff. Very easy to walk into Saumur. Good facilities and clean with plenty hot water. Excellent shower facilities with lots of space including basin.
This is a large site situated about 15 minutes walk from the town of Saumur. Facilities at the site are good with a nice pool and childrens play area. Toilets/showers very clean. Pitches are a reasonable size but many surrounded by static vans and tents. There was a lot of noise from some of the occupants of these during our stay.
Although the town is overlooked by a lovely chateau, we were disappointed by the town itself. There are far nicer in the Loire Valley.
One visit here was enough for us.
I usually avoid Flower sites due to previous negative experiences at several of their sites.
This site however, impressed with only a couple of strange practices.
Please note I have left a high rating however, despite telling the staff we were 7.6m long and preferred a site with satellite visibility we were sent to pitch c122 which was far too small and surrounded with trees. We were then offered the opportunity to choose our own pitch. All fine for us. Then we discovered numerous ACSI customers had been sent to the same plot and had all turned it down??? Do they try to get rid of the less ideal pitches 1st to ACSI customers?
The other strange practice is the sign in the showers “SHOES FORBIDDEN IN SHOWERS”. We believe they mean no dirty shoes allowed however, we witnessed most shower users removing their clean flip flops and showering bare footed. What a way to spread foot complaints. My wife and I and several other users removed our shoes and put on clean shower shoes which is far more hygienic. Flowers need to revise their signage or policy
Many facilities - bar, restaurant, 2nd toilet block etc just getting ready to open. Those that we used were superb! Warm shower block, plenty of hot water, even when all cubicles were occupied. Wifi reasonably speedy and available throughout the site.
Riverside walk into Saumur (20 mins) Good for voie vert cycle paths.
Excellent site will certainly stay here again. friendly reception and site service staff, lovely pool and bar. Very clean throughout especially the showers and toilets. l would have been even happier if I could have got a signal for my satellite dish but that\'s not their fault.
Very peaceful site totally recommended.
great location with views of the Loire and the chateaux. toilet facilities most great but when the site is busy (july and august) they can get a little dirty but then you\'ve got kids running in and out and dont tend to clean up. Plenty of hot water showers and sinks . staff very friendly and mostly very helpful. stayed for 5 weeks so must like it. Great walk into saumur town along the river (Only 10 mins) great market on Saturdays in main town. smaller 1 on Thursdays on the island main street. loads of great restaurants to try out. A must visit to one of the Saumur vin yards to try their sparking wine. As good as the champagne region. A visit to the mushroom caves is worth and to try the mushrooms cooked with varies fillings. Enjoyable walk around the out side of the site to the end of the island by the wier.
