We stayed on this site in late July. First impressions were good, friendly staff, very good English spoken, good information pack supplied. Lovely swimming pool especially for those with children. Toilets & showers were kept very clean but the building is old & is in need of updating. We didn’t use the snack bar but it looked nice & had a decent menu of the usual fast food items. What we noticed more was there are many older static caravans where lots of the French come to stay for the summer and we felt out numbered as there are only a small amount of pitches for motorhomes & tents. As it was July it was full and quite busy which is to be expected. The surrounding beach area which is a short walk was pleasant & we did some nice walks.
A quiet and very peaceful site a short distance from the stunning shore, there is a pedestrian gate at the rear of the site which gives access to a gravel path, right towards the town and left to the beach. A variety of pitches which although a little unkempt in places (but perfectly serviceable grass surface) have a choice of full sun down to deep shade, (there are a couple of very large trees) along with plenty of hedges to give a bit of privacy. Like many French sites this one has a large number of (quality) cabines most of which were empty when we stayed right at the very end of May, I expect it gets pretty hectic in the height of the season but that's outside the ACSI period anyway. The staff are exceptionally helpful, nothing is too much trouble (English spoken) snack bar and bar on site neither of which we tried but are clean and airy. Bread is available in the mornings to order. Toilets spotless, the water for showers could be a bit hotter but it's certainly not cold! (No seats or paper in the loos). Now the best bit....... The (heated outdoor) pool area is excellent, there has obviously been considerable investment in it, it looks very new and is delightful (it even has a small kiddies pool) a large open area surrounding it with about 80 quality sun beds, shade is a bit hard to come by though! Window access to the bar from the pool area. Swimming shorts are not allowed, budgie smugglers only. The surrounding area is a delight for everyone from walking, through cycling to car driving. Pornic is a short drive (or a pretty decent bike ride) away, delightful harbour side with many eateries, all of which do a variety of seafood at very reasonable prices. Easy access into St Nazaire and Nantes, the site even provides printed guides of what's on and where in the local area, all in all a cracking site that I will certainly be returning to (that is if it's not occupied by everyone who has found this review and decided to give it a try)
