The site is under new ownership and is in the process of upgrading the facilities. The owners were very friendly and could not do enough for us. The table d’hote is a great idea and allowed us to meet other visitors. Spacious, level and secluded pitch. We were without children but they appeared to be well catered for. We did not use the swimming pool or sports facilities so cannot reasonably comment on them. Conveniently located for visits to Albi and Cordes-sur-Ciel we highly recommend this site.
We arrived to a very warm welcome from the new Dutch owner Jean-Marc and were given the opportunity to choose our pitch. All pitches are very level and spacious and most have high hedges. The children\'s play area is well equipped and the swimming pool is delightful with sun beds, chairs and parasols available.
We were pleased to accept an invitation to the table d\'hote that evening and had an amazing 4 course meal + coffee which was also repeated a couple of days later with a new menu - apparently Jean-Marc was a chef in his own restaurant in Holland before changing direction to Campings advantage. Jan, eldest son, also cooks and assisted with waiting one day and cooking whilst Dad served the next time. The 16 guests were also joined by 2 other sons Mart and Jesse who were excellent in speaking to everyone. Florence (Mum) cleans the service area, toilets, showers, washrooms etc where you will also find soap and toilet paper. This is a real family affair and after 6 wks of travelling in France this is the first time we have not wanted to move on and one where we will definitely try to return.
The surrounding countryside is breathtaking and Cordes sur Ciel stunning - I would advise going to the top on the little train, stopping at the Panoramique for coffee/lunch and slowly walking down. So much to see and photograph. Albi is also well worth a visit in its own right. We wish them every success in this family affair.
The new owner of this campsite is extremely friendly and helpful and an accomplished chef. He cooked us a five* dinner in his home as it was raining. The pitches are generous and the setting is beautiful. The shower block is a little shabby but very clean and well provided for
Camping Redon is a little gem you will find hard to leave. Arriving at 18.30 we were warmly welcomed by the owner and able to chose where we wanted to pitch. Some pitches are very shaded, but sheltered from wind by high hedges but we chose a more open spot with beautiful views across the countryside and great sunsets. The site is small and has a friendly feel. Sanitary facilities are excellent. Unisex but toilet paper and soap provided. Very good showers with lots of space and very hot water. Same for dish washing. Pool area very inviting with some sun loungers. Good free wifi near the showers. Bread orders taken and delivered by the owner to your pitch each morning. What service.
The area is delightful with lots to see. Cordes sur Ciel is an easy 7k bike ride away along a quiet back road. I suggest touring the town from the far side entering by Porte Jane as the route from the main road is very steep and best walked down rather than up. A delightful town.
We had three excellent nights here at one of the nicest sites we have stayed at in France. A week would be better. A great site deserving 10/10 as it is so peaceful and quiet.
Very helpful lady at reception who walked you round to find a suitable pitch. Pitches huge, all toilet facilities first class, hot water for showers and washing up and very clean. This is a very large site so some pitches are a fair way from the sanitary block. Easy walk into Cirdes-sur-Ciel which is well worth a visit. If your like me get puffed up hills take the land train, you can get off near the top walk up and then back to rejoin the train.
Lovely quiet site within easy reach of Cordes. Most pitches are quite large.Nice pool. WiFi free.
Very friendly and helpful owners who are multilingual. Pre ordered bread is brought to your pitch each morning. All the facilities were spotless and well maintained.
My only negative is that all the information about walks, attractions and the area are in reception which is closed most of the time whilst staff do other things. It doesn't seem fair to interrupt their labours just for a leaflet.
We recommend this site very highly.
We stayed here for about a week at the end of September when many other sites were beginning to close down. It was a gem of a place. Very thoughtful and attentive owners. Lots of useful information including notated local walks. We would support all the positive comments from other reviewers, and certainly didn't recognise one reviewer's complaint about the toilet.
A lovely campsite!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, such a peaceful location excellent helpful staff clean toilets etc and a lovely pool area. The entrance can be tight but we are 8.5m and no problem also the pitches are large and quite private.
5 km in Cordes we cycled the back way in on the quiet roads.
would definitely recommend
What a great little campsite! The view from the 'front line' pitches (45 to 50 ish) over the fields are fab! Sunsets are stunning!
Very friendly Dutch owners which can not be faulted. They even bring your bread to the pitch in the morning! We couldnt have asked for more!
Toilets clean and tidy with plenty of hot water.
Visted Albi on one day which is a half an hour bus ride away and the timetable is on the notice board by the washing up sinks. Beautiful town and well worth a visit. Cordes is about 5 miles away which is also stunning.
Very enjoyable couple of days stay and would have no hesitation of coming back.
A lovely campsite, with lots of well sheltered pitches. Lovely patches of garden and colour as well as fragrant trees (bearing in mind it is Spring). There was a restaurant and swimming pool but we used neither. The owners were very friendly, toilet and wash facilities excellent. The nearby towns of Cordes sur Ceil and Albi well worth a visit. Ground sheets are not allowed on site which is why the pitches are good.
Thanks for your positive review and I´m happy you visited our campsite during mai 2015.
I appriciate you discribeour campsite. Only there is a misunderstanding in the last phrase. Ground sheets are of course allowed on our site (a lot of campres use them) We only ask our campers in nour camping information not to use groundsheets that are not breathable because that will, kill the grass. I don´t want campers to be frighten because of this misunderstanding That´s why I send this review supplement. Thanks !
