Travelling party: Seniors

A simply delightful site, very peaceful (well it was in September and it was very nearly full to capacity!) and at night its not overly lit. Its a little \'interesting\' to get to, look out for the signs rather than relying on your satnav! Excellent and friendly welcome from English speaking staff. There are a variety of pitches, both in size and the degree of shade. If you have a large outfit then be sure to tell reception when you check in as not all pitches will be suitable. Also its an excellent idea to \'scout out\' the route to your pitch first as the access roads do have some pretty sharp bends, I have a 12m+ car/caravan and it was close in places but I managed OK so its not that bad. Two shower blocks, go for the ones behind the swimming pool, much nicer than the others. Plenty of hot water and if its important to you toilet seats and paper. The site is right by the water but there is a grass bank (sea defence) that blocks the view. Good sized supermarket about 800m, be sure to ask the reception for the pretty route that\'s alongside the water rather than going by road. Lovely area and only about an hour from Cherbourg port but don\'t just think of this as a \'stopover\' site, it, and the area, are far more deserving of your time than that. Would I return? Without a doubt, and for longer than the 3 days we had on this trip.

Lovely site, half an hour from Cherbourg. Hedged marked out grassy pitches. Unisex toilet blocks with toilet paper hand soap and hand driers. Separate shower block with push button showers. Both blocks were cleaned frequently and well maintained. Nice outdoor pool too. There was a netto within 2 km and a large Intermarche at about 4km. Short walk to the harbour and town. Lovely area with the Utah beaches nearby.

Having just returned from here after a 2 week stay i can highly recommend this site, the facilities are spotless, the toilet blocks are the cleanest i have ever seen.Situated in st vaast this site offers grass pitches with electric hook up, 2 toilet and showere blocks, a wonderful swimming pool and a basketball court with bouncy castles for the kids. A short walk into st vaast will lead you to a quaint fishing village with a host of shops, the quay is lined with fishing boats which sell fish direct from the boat on the quay. A carrefour supermarket and netto are at the beginning of the village with reasonably priced fuel pumps. This is a great place to stay for a short break, a long break or stopover on the way to cherbourg, the pitches are pretty spacious but the site is rammed with campervans, only saw a couple of tents, a couple of caravans and we had the only trailer tent, on the whole a quiet well laid out site with spotless facilities. The staff are a credit to the site owners.

Stayed late Sep 2018 for 3 nights. Very presentable site, good size pitch, helpful staff, clean shower blocks with hot water (!), nice location for town and coastal walk, new carefour supermarket with nice coffee bar 1km away. One of ACSI’s better sites.

Travelling party: Group of friends

As other reviewers have commented, all-in-all this is a very good site and I’d happily recommend it.
The nearby town and coastal features are a bonus within easy walking distance.
Sanitation is ok, but shower fixed temperature is erratic and more fine spray than a good soaking.
Pitches are a reasonable size, grass, level and well demarcated by hedging. If you prefer a quiet and peaceful spot, then go towards the rear of the site rather the front which borders a residential road.
Front pitches have some traffic noise and there’s an annoying barking dog in one of the local houses. This area is also close to the sports/playground area and bouncy castle. The site is well maintained and the shop and cafe are very useful offering bread each morning (to order) and very reasonably priced take-away meals. WiFi chargeable after 30mins free daily. I couldn’t find a motorhome point other than one on the adjoining aire which charged for drainage and water which was disappointing.

Great site. We came for a two day stopover and stayed for a week. Site is calm and the town lovely. New Carrefour Market Supermarket about a mile away with fuel and car wash. Pitches are a good size and well cared for some internal access roads are a little on the tight side for a large unit (7.25 m caravan) so selecting the right pitch might be important particularly if your unit does not have a mover. Final word we will return.

DONT PASS THIS PLACE BY , EXCELLENT...... 30 minutes from Cherbourg ferry ideal place to rest after crossing or use it as a short drive to the return one . The fishing village itself is so worth the visit , working fishing boats , go and watch the day catch , also there's miles of Oyster beds , at low tide it's a hive of activity , the village also has a busy yacht marina as well as an active ship salvage yard .
So in a nutshell I'm raving about this place , so much to see , cycling , walking , historic sites , amazing very realistic places to eat their fresh fish , and the campsite is an excellent standard , we will be back And will recommend this campsite to my friends well done 'la Galloutte

Travelling party: Couple

Convenient site for overnight stay before the ferry from Cherbourg.
Flat site, good sized pitches, we had a large caravan and car with room for table and chairs.
Good location for local shops, walks etc
Our only negative comment is that the roads are quite narrow and make manoeuvring round corners difficult. We suggest you walk to your pitch first and find the best route.
We did not use the bar/ swimming area but it looked alright

stayed here 3rd and 4th june easy to get to from port, really nice welcome by the hosts, toilet/ shower blocks in the middle pretty much open air(gaps above and below door) but better ones by reception but we used them fine.didnt use much in the way of facilities but pitch nice and large and water and electric at hand, had a wandee and found a super little town nice shops and restaraunts, right on the sea and harbour, great sights and cycle/walking routes nearby. definately be back.
