This is a beautifully maintained camp site within walking distance to the ancient town of Bayeux. The grounds are landscaped and the pitches spacious - particularly for caravans. The toilets and showers were very clean and well designed. It is obvious that the owners of this camp site are very hands-on and it is managed very well. We will definitely come back. It’s about 100 K from Cherbourg so very handy for catching the ferry.
Excellent position in relation to town centre and visits to the Bayeux tapestry. Some pitches are clearly marked some less so. Tripped the EHU once but could reset easily. Close to municipal swimming pool and Mac Donald’s if needed.
Lovely campsite but only 6a supply reception very knowledgeable ideal stop to fill up before catching ferry home aldi and supermarket on doorstep
A very handy municipal site, very busy and all was full, ideal for visiting Bayeux and the Normandy coast and it\'s history. There is a huge town swimming pool for campsite stayers just outside site. We stayed a couple of weeks after the 75th Normandy anniversaries,
This is a fabulous camping site with great access to the town centre and the Normandy beaches. We originally booked for three nights but stayed for five. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, especially when our fridge decided not to work. They supplied us with ice packs until we got it working again. Really love this site.
Slightly sloping, lawned and beautifully maintained site. Motorhomes seem to be allocated hard-standing bays of various lengths with lawn each side. Reception staff live on site, and their lunchtime breaks are respected. The cul de sac leading to the site has space for about four units to queue, with further spaces as well as a U-turning area beyond the entrance.
In our experience the staff was very helpful, bread/croissant daily orders taken, with payment totted up and paid for along with site fee on departure. Space near reception for pizza van, but this did not materialise during our 6-night stay. Frites available from nearby McDonalds.
Good cycling from site, with voie vert loop towards Arromanche particularly interesting and scenic.
Found the site to be clean tidy and a slight amount of road noise but very convenient to follow the river to central Bayeux.
Please note: NO entry to site before 2pm. Visitors turned away prior to this time. Difficult for caravaners who have driven up to barrier. Grumpy reception staff. Reviews above were selected to allow access to comments box. Previous visits to site were fine.
This is a nice, well kept site within a short walk via a riverside path to the city centre. Newish shower/toilet block. Pitches are small (will take an awning or canopy) and in some cases you are only a metre or so from neighbouring vans. 6amp electricity supply. Lots to do in the area with the lovely city 15 minutes walk and the landing beaches and war cemeteries a short drive. Plenty of nearby supermarkets.
Great campsite for visiting Bayeux, which is a pleasant 10-minute stroll along the river. New toilet blocks with paper and loo seats! Nice reception staff. We had hardstanding but were quite near the busy road (where there were good supermarkets). Very easy journey from Cherbourg.
