Faded glory, living off its reputation maybe. Helpful staff but obviously looking forward to end of season. Very French; lots of boules; busy road nearby. Wooden cabins looked nice.
Enough said,we planned to stop for three nights and stopped for fourteen,it was that good.
The pitch was excellent as was the onsite Wifi. The showers and toilets were not modern but always clean, the water temperature couldnt be turned down (or up)and my wife found the water a bit too warm.
There are two guys work full time plus a cleaner/barperson,they really work hard and appreciated our effort at speaking French!
There is plenty to keep you occupied here but dont miss Dijon markets
We only stayed here one night on our way from Alsace to Loire so couldn't really get a good perspective. That said the site is on the edge of the town of Saulieu and is therefore seemed walkable although ashamed to say we didn't do the walk. But when we passed through it seemed that every other establishment was a restaurant, bistro or some sort of eatery. The site seems to be run by one young lad single handedly who was extremely friendly and helpful and tried his absolute best at speaking in English for us. They did very simple food and chips in the evening and whilst not "fast food" they had beer and wine and we weren't in a hurry. The site was best described as scruffy but charming. The toilets and showers were excellent. Pitches were large. The combined electricity, water and waste points were numerous although some didn't look in the best of condition. Would return for a longer stay.
Nice site situated on the edge of town. Facilities not particularly modern, but kept clean, would definitely return
This is a very pleasant site close to the town where there are one or two good restaurants. Most of the pitches are a generous size and have plenty of shade. The washrooms are clean although not as up to date as some sites we have stayed at. The couple who run the site are very friendly, helpful and speak good English. The location is good for visiting nearby lakes particularly Settons which offers good swimming and walking. A must is to visit Alesia where Ceasar battled the Gauls and what is said is where France was established. We stayed in the first week of June and the site was quite empty. Good wifi all round.
We stayed for 16 nights and had a wonderful time. The pitch was very large and had electrical hook up. We used both pools several times a day and ate at the snack a couple of times. Limited menu but just perfect for our needs. The pizza truck on Wednesdays and Saturdays is excellent. The toilet block is good and clean. Lots of room to play for the children. We would thoroughly recommend to everyone.
