Stayed in September. Were very disappointed that the restaurant was not open, the toilets were reduced to just two (None for disabled) only one was usable. The heating for the swimming pool was switched off before the end of the month. Staff seemed to be more interested in their own affairs rather than customers.
This is a lovely campsite, close to a number of cafes and restaurants beside the marina. Great walking, cycling and running routes next to the campsite. The pitches are a good size and felt as though you had privacy. The toilet facilities are quite basic but do the job.
BEWARE THE BOOKING FEE!
We made a telephone booking on behalf of ourselves and another couple the day before arriving at this site and requested ACSI discount rates. Booking made but no payment taken at this point. Stayed 3 days as planned. Paid bill evening prior to departure, it seemed excessive, so asked for cost breakdown. We were told it would be sent via email after departure as they could not print it. On receipt of email on route to next site it showed each pitch had been charged a“frais du dossier”.
Very helpful receptionist at our next Flower Campsite telephoned on our behalf to ask Le Conleau staff to see if a mistake had been made, and was told they would look into it and respond by email within 3 days. 3 days later and we have heard nothing. We are aware that some sites charge a booking fee, each pitch on one booking, and one invoice is surely unjustified. If booking fee per pitch is the normal practice for this site it should have been advised at the time of booking.
12 days later and after several emails we have managed to get one of the booking fees refunded.
This site provides a perfect example of why ACSI is now at risk from many of the campsites it promotes. Without any prompting whatsoever, three couples had the same experience as us, being given pitches that were nowhere near level, to the point where our fridge in a two year old motorhome would not work. Only when we really put our foot down did they reluctantly give us a suitable pitch. They told others that pitches were booked, when they clearly were not. The campsite is in an ideal location, but they are clearly bringing the good services of ACSI into disrepute and they should be investigated. We had a similar problem in Nantes last year which is also run by the same company Flower Camping\'s.
We spent 3 nights in our Motorhome in May. Friendly, helpful check-in. We were given a larger than average pitch with morning and daytime sun. Water tap on the pitch. Toilet blocks clean, water hotter in the lower block. On site bar and snack bar friendly staff, good value food. Swimming pool warm and clean, busy with children on two days. Pleasant walking to Conleau and Vannes.
Site full yet Majority of toilets and showers were closed. Only two of each open at our end shared by both sexes and only one with functioning paper dispenser yet another 5 WCs or more were locked. Similar in the other two sanitary blocks. Disgraceful given the site was packed.
Don't arrive here at lunchtime. Major queue due to long lunch hour. Then allocated occupied pitch so back to the back of the queue again! Lots of noisy children where we were. ( but we are old!) Also, I reckon it owas about 4km to old part of city. But worth it.
Great site in a very convenient location.
Reception were very friendly and helpful. We were given a pitch in the middle of the site in a circle of grass with other vans. Pitches were on the small side and ours was quite shaded under trees which would have been good in hot weather but as it rained most of the rime we were there it was a bit gloomy. There was no proper demarkation between the pitches within this circle but there were hedges between the pitches and the roadway.
Although the site was quite busy the central block of toilets/showers were closed, presumably as it was out of season (1st week in June) but the other two blocks were only a short walk away and were good with plenty of hot water. My one gripe was that there was no wash hand basin or means of drying hands inside, only a cold water tap outside.
The bar and restaurant were closed throughout our stay so we can't comment on them, nor did we use the pool.
The campsite is very well placed for visiting the city with a bus stop to the centre just outside. Vannes is a lovely town with a delightful medieval centre that is well worth a visit. A short walk from the campsite in the other direction brings you to the port of Conleau with it's bars, restaurants, salt water open air swimming pool and picnic areas which seemed to be well used by locals as well as tourists. There were also cycle paths leading from the campsite in both directions.
We shall most certainly return here.
We stayed for 4 nights in may 2016 the hard stand was fine for space, allocation of the site was great for walking or cycling into Vannes, and surrounding area, had a lovely time, staff were very nice and helpful. The swimming pool looked great didn't get to use it.
A good location within walking distance of Vannes but there is a bus service directly outside the site. There are also good signposted, looked after cycling/walking trails. Some pitches are close together and some are on sloping ground but there is plenty of choice.
At the time of our stay, the largest toilet block was closed leaving two others open which seemed to cope with a fairly high level of site occupancy.
The reception staff spoke very good English and were both friendly and helpful.
With the ACSI discount, this is a good place to stay for a few nights.
