Travelling party: Single

I spend two nights at this lovely campsite in a caravan. The biggest sell for this site is the nature. The area around Silkeborg is among the most beautiful in Denmark and here you are smack in the middle and yet close to Silkeborg. The North forrest, which has one if the best mountain bike tracks in Denmark is just 10 minutes away on bike and an absolute must, so are the great lakes around Silkeborg, which are perfect for swimming, fishing or sailing. The camp site is very nice and cosy. The pitches are quite small and would had been great 30 years ago, but today they can cause a problem if you have a big caravan. Mine is 8.6m and I found a corner pitch where it fitted perfectly but no room for the car. The toilet and kitchen facilities are OK, but show signs of better day and you have to pay additional for water at both kitchen and bathroom, a bit of a downside and a but cheap if you ask me. There is no swimming pool and only a small shop with the most basic of items you may need, so shop outside of the camp ground. The playground is really big and most kids will have a great time here. It is my feeling that there was a high number of season campers who has their caravan parked permanently on this site. It is a great site for a few days, but if I was camped here for more than a week I think I would start to be bored. The staff is a real plus, easy going and very friendly.
