Een prachtige camping vlak bij prachtig strand heeft veel potentie om 5 sterren. Maar dan moet er nog wel wat aan gebeuren. Voor nu een ruime voldoende.

We kwamen eigenlijk bij toeval op deze camping en besloten uiteindelijk 30 dagen te blijven; van half maart tot half april 2009. Gratis Wifi bij de receptie, 16 amp. stroom en vriendelijke medewerkers. Er is een mooi zandstrand dichtbij; ongeveer 5 minuten lopen.
In de omgeving zijn voldoende mogelijkheden om je boodschappen te doen, ideaal om te fietsen. Nabijheid van Portugese grens met leuke plaatsjes als bijvoorbeeld Vilareal do St.Antonio. Hier komen we nog eens terug.

De foto in de gids geeft de achterkant van de camping weer. Dit is een moerassig gebied, die onder invloed staat van eb en vloed. De achterzijde van de camping is met een hek afgesloten, zodat je in het getoonde gebied niet kunt komen. Wij verbleven 10 dagen op deze camping en dat is goed bevallen. Vriendelijk personeel dat regelmatig de camping inspecteert. Ook ´s nachts wordt de camping bewaakt. We troffen veel nationaliteiten aan op deze camping, die op deze camping hadden overwinterd. Sommigen verbleven hier 6 maanden. De camping ligt aan de rand van de stad. Het strand ligt tegenover de camping aan de overkant van de weg en is binnen 5 minuten bereikbaar. Het is kilometers lang en heel breed. Een aantal standtenten waren open. De supermarkten Lidl en Dia zijn op loopafstand. Het restaurant was nog gesloten. De ruimte werd gebruikt door internetgebruikers, gratis wifi. Een kleine winkel was dagelijks open, ook voor brood.

We waren op doortocht richting Portugal en van plan om een paar dagen te blijven, de camping was rustig en zag er redelijk verzorgd uit, het langs de camping gelegen bos was leuk om te wandelen met de hond, echter in de avond hadden we dermate veel last van muggen dat we besloten om de volgende dag verder te gaan.

Grote camping maar in deze tijd van het jaar hebben we daar geen last van. Ruime plaatsen en we kunnen zelf uitzoeken waar we willen staan. Het restaurant en zwembad zijn gesloten. De omgeving is aardig en het strand is ongeveer op 1 km. Aan het strand is echter niets te beleven; geen eet-tentjes of restaurantjes. Na een kwartier lopen toch nog een gevonden maar de sangria zag er niet erg gezellig uit.
