The worst campsite ever, 40 minutes to check in. We were booked in to the yellow field, we asked to move. The wardens were from the brown field, covering for a day off. The yellow field is not safe, other campers told us that. \"Itinerants\" selling their wares, strange looks as you walked passed, especially by the fishing pool, obviously they were permanent on site. The food on the site is awful, chips cooked the day before being sold the next day. Noisy, kids flying drones, ignoring rules, like playing football at 06.30. Driving around on motorbikes, scooters, rude. People walking past at 02.00 making a noise. Dogs on site on long leads encroaching on pitches. Wi fi expensive, a ripoff. This site has a feeling on insecurity, too big, too impersonal. We were told that the site is \"traveller friendly\". It is not a holiday, it is an endurance as you pay in advance. We wished we had gone home and had accepted the financial loss. We met some Germans, we gave them our address in case any thing went wrong. Stupid rules about groundsheets and the way caravans face. It is more important to keep the kids under control. It is not a nice environment to be in. Just a money making racket.
A very friendly family campsite. There is loads to do. Large pitches but not much shade, not usually a problem in Britain but we were there in a heat wave. The facilities are good and there is a Costco and a reasonably priced fish and chip shop. There is plenty of entertainment but no bar that dogs were allowed in. We found one we were allowed to sit outside. There is a great dog walk and a fishing lake. This a good family friendly site.
Lovely flat site. Visited in the week so no children on site, I imagine it gets very busy in peak times. It's opposite the beach and near all thinks along the seafront.
The clubhouse seemed popular.
As we had a Hobby caravan we where turned round at the gate, they do not accept continental caravans. I can't understand why ACSI have listed this site as the majority of it's members are from the continent!
Being a elderly couple with a small caravan we travelled down from York to visit this site around march 2013 for 7 days, We liked the surrounding area being in easy reach of Cheddar gorge, Minehead and Lynmouth the steam railway train that goes into Minehead is a real treat as is the scenery in that part of the Country whilst the Shopping area`s, especially Burnham on sea with compact shopping area`s and 4 large supermarket's to choose from is ideal being Elderly as the relaxed and slower pace was perfect, we loved it so much we revisited the site again just before the high season started and there was a wonderful era of country and western music festival on with lots of people dressing up as the old western hero's we were brought up to admire in our younger days. Hopefully this will be repeated in 2014 and we will be there again if health permits at 74 years young.
