We choose Marlie as a stop-over before heading to the Channel Tunnel. We failed to read the Google Reviews beforehand which is a mistake that we won't repeat again.
The touring field was a bit of a shambles - with smelly, overflowing bins, long-grass concealing pitch numbers and a number of divots & rocks lined by a number of unused/dumped static caravans. The toilet block is small with not enough facilities for the number of people (this was out of season) - two working mens toilets and three ladies. The remaining facilities became overused and dirty.
All in all, avoid this site. It's worth driving a few extra miles to visit clean, effectively run sites instead.
stayed here one night 27th May. Had to pay full price as it was a bank holiday weekend??? Never complained about a site before but this place is a disgrace for camping! Pitch numbers covered by grass! field very uneven with only one water point located next to smelly overflowing bins! Toilets dirty with paper strewn all over! sinks dirty and overflowing! It should NOT BE IN THE ACSI BOOK!! Avoid this site like the Plague!! ..,
There was a broken shower running continuously in the ladies toilets, men's had graffiti on walls. The camping area had a road running around it so that you could access your pitch easily, but one half of it was full of parked static homes. The touring area seemed to be the favourite place for dumping any of the static homes that they didn't have room for. While we stayed for two nights one arrived on the back of a lorry which churned the grass up and then was dumped by the entrance, a few yards from a caravans windbreak. The next morning a lorry circled our motorhome with another static home on the back and then left it on the perimeter road.
We wanted to use the washing up facilities but these were chained up despite a sign saying they would be open from 8am to 8pm. The security guard did unlock them but said they had been locked as the laundry machines in the same room had had the money stolen from them, so now they locked them. We have no plans to make a return visit.
We used this site in June 2017. Never again, too many workers in campers and caravans. Not pleasant felt unnerving. Asci should remove this site in our opinion.
We stayed here for overnight stays before and after a trip to France from Dover. It is very convenient for channel crossings, and the staff could not have been more helpful accommodating our out of hours arrivals, despite what it said in the book. The facilities were spotless, lovely hot water in sinks and showers, and the indoor pool was very modern and maintained at bath-water temperature. Adults only swimming 9-10, then families from 10. Free wifi at the clubhouse. We will definitely use this site again when crossing the channel, and maybe for a touring holiday in the UK too, wish we had found it sooner!
