Must be the best dog friendly camp site and beach in Spain such a friendly
Simple place to be. The showers and toilets are not new but are always clean . The free wifi is adequate 8 mtr long campers fit in well down the center good restaurants winin ten minutes walk again dog friendly.
I carnt think of any bad things about the place
A little run down and in need of updating but the proximity to the wonderful dog friendly beach makes up for this and more! About 5 miles of superb soft sand beach where dogs are welcome right outside the entrance to the site. No need to cross roads or other obstacles just straight on the dunes and the beach beyond. Plenty of handy bins to drop your filled poop bags into. In detail, the showers are old and have very limited hanging places for your clothes and towels etc (this is common to almost all sites I have visited, which is quite a lot! why is this the case? For the sake of a couple of simple hooks screwed to the wall?) The toilets are cramped, I regularly banged my head on the door when getting up! And had to straddle the toilet bowl to open the door. Having said that they were always clean. If you want a beach where you and your dog can walk for miles on beautiful soft sand then this is the place.
The staff are very helpful and accommodating , the site is tired and the pitches are very small extremely difficult to get onto. We were stopping just one night , which is ideal apart from the manoeuvring. I certainly would not look at it for a long period.
loved this site relaxing and great beach wifi brilliant staff very good will be back, pitches very spacious cycled better supermarket as site one had no meat or fresh veg, but on,y took about 20 mins each way, but fresh bread available on site
This was our third visit to Rio Mar. The first during the Christmas holidays and we had a wonderful time at Rio Mar. On Christmas Day we were given a wonderful lunch of paella, with a lot of extras. They even had flamenco dancers to entertain us. The staff are fabulous. We returned in April and stayed until June. Weather and conditions were great. During our third visit we had problems with one of our cycles and the owner arranged to take our cycle to be fixed. Thank you Rio Mar, especially Rosa
The toilet block is in need of some attention. Although cleaned at least twice a day there are tiles hanging off the walls of the showers. Water was hot enough and strong enough. Some pitches are really small but you get to choose and if sufficient space you can pick a larger pitch. Super market has limited produce - no fresh meat or veg. Sometime oranges were for sale. Supermarket seems to be run by a third party and the owner followed us around as if we were going to steal things - a little disconcerting. Bar/Restraunt ok, but better found over the bridge on the right (10 minute walk)
Beautiful location and peaceful place during the week and off-season. Very helpful and friendly reception. Access is easy even with a wide caravan or camper. Some of the pitches would be a bit on the small side for people who need a lot of space but the campsite is attractively laid out and is situated right next to a very wide beach. There is a large supermarket in El Verger about 5 km away, and the campsite shop can provide you with the basics. The campsite bar/restaurant is a beautiful place to while away a sunny afternoon or evening.
