3rd Visit and this time we stayed for a month. Love this site. Peniscola is a great place and has a fabulous 5km long promenade. The pool is pretty cold in October! Not a good idea to turn up unbooked as the site is permanently full in September and October.
A fantastic site with very helpful staff. Always a pleasure to return to.
We stayed here for 3 nights in our motorhome. This is our second visit. We like Peniscola with its promenade and castle. Campsite check in friendly and efficient. You are given a printed map with available pitches and walk and choose one. We chose a standard pitch this year. It all felt slightly claustrophobic. Toilet facilities excellent with hot water for showers and washing up. Easy to access promenade with walking/cycling in both directions. Dog walking on paths in nature reserve behind site. We had a good set meal in the restaurant with free bottle of wine. Large portions and staff friendlier this year. Free wi-fi on site but this is one device only and very slow
We were going to stay at Eden Camping for a couple of days but enjoyed it so much we ended up staying over 2 weeks. We found the facilities very clean and found the sinks on pitches very handy. It was very quiet every day and night of our visit. The restaurant does host weddings and indeed there was one whilst we were there but we heard no noise and when we went out at 10pm the restaurant was already closed. Great grocery shop at top of road and 2 larger supermarkets 25 min walk away. Would have no hesitation at returning here.
Pitches all a bit cramped, difficult to get on and off. Toilets and showers very good, loads of hot water, heated facilities, good, hot washing up facilities as well. Nothing open on campsite, no bar, no restaurant, all shut. Peñíscola town okay but again very little open, struggled to find a bar or restaurant in the evenings, quite disappointing. A couple of small grocery stores in the town but Lidl, Mercadona all a drive away. Would consider returning but not in the winter months, too quiet.
Only came for one now got as a stop over but loved the campsite and town so much will be coming back to stay longer. Stayed in a junior pitch which is the smallest but still spacious and had a sink for washing up. Showers were great, modern, warm and all facilities were spotless. Came out of season and only stayed one night so didn’t get to use any other facilities but bar and pool looked very nice. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Free WiFi. Easy walk into town with some lovely places to eat and drink. Highly recommended.
Nice site with easy flat walk into town or up to castle. There is a nature reserve at the back of the site which is nice for a walk round, or you can walk into town that way either. When you arrive you are given choice of pitch on north side or south side (site is in two halves). If you like to sleep, pick north side. Noise from weddings is horrendous and they are not just at weekends. When we arrived on a Thursday we asked if there were any weddings on that weekend and were to ‘no’. They lied. There were weddings Thursday and Saturday. We had to move to the north side on Friday and it was ok there.
As some others have said, they do not care about their customers. We were told the restaurant was open every night but they decided to close in an evening on our second week (November) but didn’t tell anyone so we arrived ready to eat at 7 but all was in darkness . They could easily have put a notice up surely.
Keurige camping met in najaar veel overwinteraars. Vlakbij mooi strand van Peniscola. Aan camping verbonden restaurant is uitstekend.
Pitches seemed small and only a few available when we visited. Several campers seemed long term and we didn’t feel that welcome. Security good but the bar facilities were being used by an outside party when we visited. Swimming pool busy and noisy at weekends. Very convenient for visiting Peñiscola. Lovely castle and old town.
We stayed 4 nights in our Motorhome in June. Very helpful, friendly reception. We were able to choose our own pitch. Larger pitches cost per night more. All are gravel. The site has two areas divided by a road. The south side is noisier due to swimming pool. Toilet facilities excellent, with plenty of hot water. Each pitch has its own cold water/sink. Easy access to beach and promenade. Lovely walk or cycle to Peniscola with Castle and Port. Set menu in restaurant good value but staff rather surly. Security at the site is excellent with both barrier and pedestrian gate operating by key.
