Only came for one now got as a stop over but loved the campsite and town so much will be coming back to stay longer. Stayed in a junior pitch which is the smallest but still spacious and had a sink for washing up. Showers were great, modern, warm and all facilities were spotless. Came out of season and only stayed one night so didn’t get to use any other facilities but bar and pool looked very nice. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Free WiFi. Easy walk into town with some lovely places to eat and drink. Highly recommended.
Nice site with easy flat walk into town or up to castle. There is a nature reserve at the back of the site which is nice for a walk round, or you can walk into town that way either. When you arrive you are given choice of pitch on north side or south side (site is in two halves). If you like to sleep, pick north side. Noise from weddings is horrendous and they are not just at weekends. When we arrived on a Thursday we asked if there were any weddings on that weekend and were to ‘no’. They lied. There were weddings Thursday and Saturday. We had to move to the north side on Friday and it was ok there.
As some others have said, they do not care about their customers. We were told the restaurant was open every night but they decided to close in an evening on our second week (November) but didn’t tell anyone so we arrived ready to eat at 7 but all was in darkness . They could easily have put a notice up surely.
Pitches seemed small and only a few available when we visited. Several campers seemed long term and we didn’t feel that welcome. Security good but the bar facilities were being used by an outside party when we visited. Swimming pool busy and noisy at weekends. Very convenient for visiting Peñiscola. Lovely castle and old town.
We stayed 4 nights in our Motorhome in June. Very helpful, friendly reception. We were able to choose our own pitch. Larger pitches cost per night more. All are gravel. The site has two areas divided by a road. The south side is noisier due to swimming pool. Toilet facilities excellent, with plenty of hot water. Each pitch has its own cold water/sink. Easy access to beach and promenade. Lovely walk or cycle to Peniscola with Castle and Port. Set menu in restaurant good value but staff rather surly. Security at the site is excellent with both barrier and pedestrian gate operating by key.
A lovely site which on the whole is fairly quiet but is spoiled at times by excessive noise.
it is situated next to a very large sports stadium. Yesterday there was noise constantly from 10 in the morning until 8 pm. And when say noise I mean NOISE!
Music blaring out and people shouting over the PA system for almost 10 hours. Oh, and the odd mortar firework throughout the day too. It was incessant.
The night previous There was a private party being held at the site bar, only a few metres from our motorhome. The party was still in full swing at 2 in the morning.
It\'s such a shame as the site is really nice.
However, because of the noise issues we will not be going back.
A very large site, which was very busy but we were on the north side which was unbelievably quiet. The pitch was a good size & hedged, a sink which allowed us to connect the water but unfortunately no drainage. The food in the restaurant was good value with the free bottle of wine. A site I would visit again.
Nice pitch, separated by hedges, some pitches, in some areas were a little too close together for our liking but electric, sink and fast internet were all excellent. The location, Templar castle shown in El Cid and more recently Meereen in Game of Thones, amazing place some top class restaurants and beautiful beaches. We ate on site at Eden Restaurant as well, superb food, excellent value for money, we stayed 5 days.
Good site for overnight or longer stay. Facilities all good. Restaurant excellent food., service and value. Pitch sizes variable. Basic ACSI size a bit tight but paying extra for next size we\'ll worth it. Site very up front about all costs. Private functions on Saturday and Sunday closed the restaurant, denied us our second feast and made a racket until late that boomed across both parts of the site. We\'d go back mid-week as otherwise the place is good and an easy 15 minute walk to town for everything or a small but pricey supermarket about 200 yards away. No complaints from us.
All good as above except the restaurant was closed for a wedding. A Spanish wedding involves alot of screaming, shouting, fireworks and very loud music until 6am
We have stayed here now 8 nights, the castle is very interesting and we’ll worth a visit. The site is just a few steps from the promenade which stretches for miles in both directions. Peñiscola is a popular resort with good value restaurants on the sea front. The site is large and busy, toilets and showers are good, with plenty of hot water and cleaned regularly. Pitches are of varying sizes , you can pay a little extra for a larger pitch. Most pitches have trees, so care is needed when getting on and off pitches. Be aware that on Saturdays the site restaurant is used for weddings and other festivities, not connected to the site, it has been closed to site residents because of this on at least 2 days out of our stay. Last night (Saturday night) , loud music was pumping until 6am this morning, fireworks were going off at 2am. Other residents say this happened last weekend also. Will be back, but will either avoid Saturdays or get as far from the restaurant as possible. Bring ear plugs!
