Used it as a stop over on our way South, this is the second time we have used this site and will definitely use it again.
Plan to use it on the way back in May and hopefully spend a few days as there is a lot to see and do in the area.
Campsite staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They run a well stocked shop, which was really helpful as most shops in town seemed closed. The washroom facilities are very good and very clean. The site is a great base for some good walking and cycling and has good views over the town. Navajas is an interesting little town with some wonderful villas and impressive waterfalls.
We had planned this as a 1 night stop, well we stayed 7 nights. After reading previous reviews we considered it as a night over but found a little gem! Yes, the access to the pitches can be difficult due to the kerbs but I managed with our TA 8m caravan without a mover. One of the reviews complained the chemical toilet emptying point was far from the touring pitches, there was one at each of the heated toilet blocks, but positioned by the washing up sinks a rather unusual place. The touring area is at the top of the terraced site, views were stunning. The Via Verde, an old railway track that is now a cycle/walk way passes the edge of the site and goes for miles in both directions. The local town has a few shops, a bar or two and a walk that has waterfalls. There was a better supermarket at Jerica, 5 miles of easy cycle along the Via Verde. Reception staff very helpful, site walking distance from station and Valencia return was 8.75€.
This is a really great site. Near a lovely little town. Great walking near the site and around. Very good washrooms, heated in winter which we appreciated. Extremely helpful staff. We took the train to Valencia for the day. Approach is fairly steep but great views when you are pitched. Highly recommended.
A steeply terraced site with excellent views of the surrounding countryside and easy access from the A23 Autovia. Very helpful staff and a pleasant restaurant on site. Good for walking and cycling along an old railway track. Very busy at the weekend but all was quiet well before midnight. The fruit from the trees are a nuisance sticking to everything. The local village has a number of shops, bars and restaurants and there is a reasonably stocked shop on site.
Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff in reception, who seem to switch effortlessly between various languages. Toilet blocks are heated which is a boon in winter. Interesting village nearby with old fashioned shops and a market once a week. Spectacular waterfall nearby, and very attractive countryside for cycling and walking - not just the Via Verde but also the local lanes. However, the pitches can be difficult to get into and we found that in a cold wind, 6A was just not enough to keep us warm. Also, the cassette toilet emptying point is a long walk from the tourist pitches.
We found this an excellent site for a four day stay, the pitch we had was on the 1st touring pitch level & was very easy to access with low kerbs & plenty of room. We previously visited a few years ago & had a pitch on level 2 which is a lot more difficult to manoeuvre around with very high kerbs on some pitches. The cycling from the site is excellent towards Jarica, in fact we went twice, don't know about the other direction but it doesn't look as scenic. The cycle track has quite a steep access from the site but once on it is very smooth & fairly easy to ride on. We also had a walk through Navajas to the falls which are quite pretty, the riverbank walk not so!
We had a paella in the restaurant, not much meat in it, about 5 small pieces, but the rice was tasty. All in all we liked the site & would visit again for a little longer & maybe use the rail network to visit Valencia & Teruel.
situated on steep slope, but managed a Nissan Xtrail and Bailey pageant 7m + length
Showers Toilets ect. very warm & clean
good walking along old railway and surrounding area
Best campsite we've stayed in during our 2 months in Spain. Staff in reception were extremely helpful and encouraging of our (limited) Spanish language skills. Toilets and showers very clean, loads of hot water. Plenty of walking & cycling in the area. Local shopkeepers very welcoming and friendly.
Very steep terraced site but we got an 8+ metre long caravan and land river up ok. High pervs had been mentioned in previous reviews which was a concern but the road we were on, one down from the top, had been resurfaced with new tarmac to the top of the kerb so easy access. grit pitches. small trees and frames for shade but no shade material on our road but it\'s early season so they may fitted later. All pitches have water on them and while we were there they were building brick stands with stainless steel sinks fitted in them behind each pitch. Very busy at the weekend with the usual local weekenders but very quiet where we were. Nice looking pool but didn\'t use it. Busy restaurant even lunch time in the week with locals and menu del dia. Nice evening menu too. Toilets and showers are very tired at the top level of pitches but better lower down. Surrounding area plenty to see and do with miles of tracks and a lovely picturesque waterfall in town and a huge castle in Segundo. Valencia not that far. Would return but this time only here for 4 nights passing through.
