Not good. This campsite needs an urgent review by ACSI. Everything is very old and, although cleaned, not maintained in any other way. I.e. concrete base in children\'s play area, wheelchair access non existent, access roads to pitches crumbling away, only drinking water available was down at reception, drains in women\'s showers stank even in low season, no divider or stool in shower cubicles, toilets still had the pull chains, no shops open on site and long walk to the nearest. This is the worst ACSI site we have been on.
We really like it. We came for a week last year but stayed for 3 and this year came back, intending 3 weeks and stayed for nearly 5. The location is the best in Benicassim - best end of beach and very easy short walk. Also it is right on the wonderful. Via Verde with good distance in both directions. It is an easy bike ride on a bike path to a choice of supermarkets. It\'s not far to walk either. The staff are helpful and hard working and the campsite is very authentic. You feel as if you\'re in Spain not a mini England. The toilet facilities are bright, a decent size and kept clean. The bar and pool area are lovely and there is a good playground. The rates are also excellent for longer stays. Added to all that, Benicassim itself is a really lovely place and this year we seemed to avoid the worst of the autumn weather which Spain suffered.
This was our third visit to Azahar. We like the friendly, informality of the site, the pool and it\'s convenient position for the town, seafront and cycle routes. The facilities are a bit dated, but always clean. The pitches leave a bit to be desired, however there was plenty of choice when we visited.
We visited with intention of a three night stay. We did not stop. Where do I start. Well the welcome from behind the bar was fine. Then it all fell apart. A large number of pitches are very difficult to access. They appear to be just soil. Pitches seem small. The children’s play area was surfaced with concrete. The facilities were poor no loo paper, limited hot water and an awful smell from the men’s facility. Dangerous steps around the facilities too. We are happily settled at Bonterra just down the road at the price that Azahar quoted. No comparison. How is this site cat 1? I notice similar complaints from several years ago. Requires an urgent and thorough review.
Very friendly welcome good internet nice warm showers the overhanging branches could be a problem and a little tight getting onto pitch. Excellent for the town & shops very good cycle rides.
Local market on the Thursday, very good.
Whilst given a friendly welcome this site was disappointing, the toilets whilst clean were old and in need of total refurbishment. Site generally poorly cared for and overall impression was that of neglect. Will not be visiting again.
Railway very noisy. The site should not be Cat 1, bit like a derelict building site. Pitches very small dirty ground, roads very narrow. I would not recommend.
Arrived early September and the campsite was virtually empty.
The toilet facilities were very poor, the worst we have seen in spain and trees on the pitches
to low for our motorhome we decided that we would prefer another site and moved on
Excellent secure campsite.Very friendly and helpfully staff. Well positioned for the beach and also the town. The area has many tracks for cycling and walking. Also a bus stops outside the gates if you want to explore further down the coast.we have stayed at Azahar 3 times. We would not hesitate to recommend this campsite.
Camping of inferior quality, with narrow pitches on a pitiful ground. The trees are too low for autocaravans. Toilet badly maintained and very old.
