We have been to this site many times and it has improved considerably over the last couple of years. There is something for everyone and the location is fabulous - right at the edge of the beautiful Mar Menor. They have just created a new children´s play park with pools and they have installed many more wooden chalets for accommodation. The site caters for permanent occupants, weekenders or holidaymakers for a week or two weeks, caravan and motorhome owners - on generous size plots with water and electricity provided. Well worth a visit. The staff are always helpful and friendly and the on site supermarket has absolutely everything you could want at extremely reasonable prices. The restaurant on the beach is perfect for sitting and watching the world go by and having a good meal at a very reasonable price. On the beach there are water sports facilities provided by professional people which the children love. There is an area for bathing which is protected by nets during the summer months and you can wade out in beautiful clear warm water. You can cycle or walk for miles always with the spectacular views of La Manga and the Mar Menor
stayed on this campsite over the weekend although it's a huge site once situated in your very generously proportioned pitch it didn't feel like you were part of such a big site. Toilet and shower facilities are excellent there is a large Spar on site to stock up on plus a great restaurant down by the beach that offered a great menu del dia & noche which was good quality food and value. Entertainment was laid on too on Saturday night at the restaurant which was an added extra bonus. Great site all round the only little niggle we had was the fact there was no hot water available in the dish washing area other than that would definitely go again!
This is a huge camp site, almost a thousand touring pitches which are all hard standing and spacious, there are 500 static pitches which looks like a shanty city never mind a town, this is a shame as it defiantly spoils the site, the touring pitches are well maintained with hedging, all very good, toilet blocks are good with plenty of hot water, swimming pool area very nice but no sun beds, reception friendly with good understanding of English, just as well as the site seam to be full of Brits on the winter migration. Sporting facilities, this site has the lot and seams to be well used, the supermarket on site is a large Spar, and if they don't sell it it don't exist,, there is a bar down on the beach which I did not visit due to the 20 minute walk from our pitch, as I said it is a big site, if you enjoy cycling you will love this place and can cycle for miles mostly off road. I would recommend this site and would probably return.
Stayed at this site for the third time January to April 2017. have booked for January to April 2018. Staff first rate wanted to move pitch on problem. Restaurnt good and very reasonable. Beach good and clean. If going the beach or restaurant you will need pushbike or other transport. Overall not bad. Thanks La Manga
We have been to this site 3 times this year so far. It appears to be marmite - you either love or hate it. We like it - it has a fantastic supermarket, good size plots, new log cabins, plenty of different sport facilities, indoor/outdoor swimming pools. Bar and restaurant on the beach. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Excellent security staff patrolling around the site at all times. Friendly campers. The site is kept very clean. The bathroom facilities are looking tired but the cleaning crew do a sterling job going in regularly and making sure it is continually spotless. There are permanent residents who have ensured that their properties are completely protected from the sun and they do give a bit of an appearance of a ´shanty´town but most of these are on the outer edge of the site. With a motorhome - if you use the middle sections then it is all open and very pleasant. The facilities for motorhomes are spot on and there is everything you could want. -we would recommend it wholeheartedly. .
The campsite has hedges between each plot and water on each too but no shade above. The toilet fasciitis are basic, need to be updated and no private wash areas apart from basic showers too, you only have a hook in the shower and no bench or seat for personal items. Shower heads very old and some pipes loose from the walls. Also most toilet seats were loose and I’ll fitting. Camp shop very good and restaurant good too. Swimming pool is ok just a rectangle although there seems plenty of space to build better and bigger. Altogether though it is the ideal site for La Manga strip no other camp sites in the area and it is reasonably priced.
In dry conditions there is a lot of dust thrown up by passing cars on site which can cause problems.
Water and drainage on pitch which are surrounded by tall hedges. Good cycling along the Mar Menor.
Marmite! Some love it, we didn't! one third of this huge site is a resident 'shanty town. A couple of permanent people even jokingly referred to it as Soweto. We were situated midway between the shop and the sea, either way it was a good walk. We had major problems getting Wi-Fi reception, told it was free - but it didn't work. We could buy minimum one month (2 days to install) not a lot of use when you are here for 10 days. Half way through our stay they switched from free to paying by the day but it still didn't work satisfactorily.
On the plus side, the beach is good for dog walking, the pitch is fully serviced, the restaurant is good, and there is good security. We certainly would not come again and cannot recommend.
We went to the place for 3 month and had a lovely time there. Went to the \"Strip\" to see all the hotels and shops. Were also on several long walking in the hills. The best of it all was the weather. About 20-25 degrees. Will go back again later for a longer stop.
We were reluctant to visit this site after hearing bad reports of it. However it is a very good site.... Huge and a bit soul-less somehow but it has everything you could need.....especially if you have a dog that needs a bath now and then! It has the best dog shower I have ever used...I want one! Even though it is a huge site it is very quiet and pitches are separated by high hedges so nice and private... I don't think we will go back but it is really a very good site. Sorry I can't find a reason we disliked it because it has everything....and more!!
