General information

At Campsite Madrid Arco Iris in Villaviciosa de Odón (Madrid) camping costs as little as €20,- per night during low season with CampingCard ACSI. At one of the 142 touring pitches you will get a discounted rate during the period 20-01-2019 - 13-04-2019, 22-04-2019 - 30-04-2019, 06-05-2019 - 14-06-2019 and 08-09-2019 - 05-12-2019. At this campsite you can not only use your CampingCard ACSI for inexpensive camping, you can also use your ACSI Club ID (as an alternative ID).

A deceptively small campsite. Easy to find using the Madrid ring road. Ideal for a visit to Madrid (go to Boadilla by car, free parking, then by metro to the centre). Or go by car to Villaviciosa then take the bus. Very good restaurant.

Travelling party: Family with children, 12 - 18 years

Nice site, spoiled by the wrong GPS coordinates in the ACSI guide so serious problems finding it. In November no food and no sports facilities and poor wi-fi so I felt it poor value for that price.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Madrid can be reached by catching two buses. They are not aligned on each other. The bus from and to the campsite departs every hour only, so timing is important.

Showers in the second bathroom were cold. No chance for hot water. The first restroom has three showers: First one was defect, in the second lived a big cockroach who was waiting for guests, the last one was ok.

WiFi wasn‘t available on the first day. The second day it worked but very slow.

The pool was closed completely.

For a site with the highest price of the ACSI-pricing, I expect that the all showers work (with hot water, of course) as well as WiFi and that the pool is opened. This campsite charges the proximity to town and usually it costs more for two persons with a car including energy.

A very convenient site for the city with a good bus service from just outside which is probably the only good thing about the site. The swimming pool, shop & restaurant were all shut. If you wanted a meal (which was very expensive for what it was & not very good) you had to eat in the cafe. The young waiter was excellent.

We find that most sites close to "visitable" cities are mainly a "means to an end" Reception is always the best maintained area. This site is no exception and whilst the staff were very helpful, especially the restaurant the site area is disappointing with basic facilities for tourers overall. The shower blocks were fairly good and work was going on to improve one of them. Good for visiting Madrid but certainly not good for an extended stay

Camping loopt flink schuin omhoog. Niet te fietsen. Drukke verkeersweg langs de camping. Kleine plaatsen.

Stopped couple of days here en route to Southern Spain. Site was very quiet, mainly stopovers, but has many static units. Bar is open to locals and appeared popular but very Spanish in its offer. Pitches acceptable but service roads on the site quite narrow and turns are very sharp. We had to unhitch to turn onto our allocated pitch - very easy to scratch your van otherwise. Overall have stayed on much better sites in UK and on mainland Europe - unlikely we would return.
