A good campsite in the Rioja region, 10 km from Logroño. A base for trips out in the area, but also suitable as a stopover campsite. Naturally a visit to one of the many Rioja bodegas is 'compulsory'.
Extra discount: 7=6 / 14=11

Site is in extremely poor condition.electric hook up appears very unsafe many caravans in very poor condition makes it look like a shanty town or gypsy camp. Would not stay here again.
In the second year of new ownership the deterioration continues. the ACSI review is hopelessly out of date, there is no site maintenance, rubbish on pitches, dog and cat mess, grey water dumped on pitches, grey water drain blocked, tree branches hanging in pitches, poor electrics. No daily oversight or care. Surly cafe & Reception unhelpful. Tired showers. The site reflects the owners attitude to customers.
we planned to spend 4 nights here on the way back to Bilbao but site was so poor left early the next morning. site is overcrowded with residential caravans. reception staff less than helpful. However the bar and the bar staff were very friendly and welcoming
This one was the only one open on our route in mid-January. I emailed the site in advance to check that reception would be open at 18:00. I was told yes. We arrived at 17:50 to find reception closed and bar closed! We eventually found someone to check us in. Toilets very good, heated, only a small number of touring pitches, mostly empty which was good as I had to straddle 2 with our twin axle caravan. 6 amp electricity not enough when temperatures are close to freezing. OK for an overnight but would not stay longer.
Used this site as a stopover and it served that purpose well. Not sure if I would want to stay at busier time as there were many permanent pitches.
As others have already mentioned, this site is full of static caravans, having said that, the showers are second to none that we have experienced whilst camping. Great water pressure and very clean.
We have used this site as a stopover to and from the mediteranean coast for several years. The staff have always been very friendly and welcoming. The small bar/restaurant is very clean and the prices charges very reasonable. Rioja wine is available to buy ready boxed for travelling. Wifi is available. The toilet/shower block is new and spotless. Remember to take your toilet paper into your cubicle. The pitches and almost flat and we have never had any problems even tho we have never booked in advance. The site is approx. 1 and half hours drive from Santander/Bilbao. 20 minute flat walk into small town.with several bars, restaurants, shops and church. Much prefer this site to Haro, where we have also previously stopped.
Have stopped here twice en route either North or South. Excellent toilet facilities, did not visit Navarrete.
Happy to find the campsite open as other campers mentioned that sites further north were closed for the season. Easy going staff told us to pick any site for our tent. It was grassy and shady. Toilet block is large and clean. Situated in a nice area with the town close by and not far from the hwy.
We have stayed at this campsite on each of our visits to Spain as a good site when returning to the ferry either Santander or Bilbao an easy drive. There are quite a few really good bodegas selling fantastic Rioja but we always go to the cooperative bodega which is virtually across the road from the campsite. Reds and Roses are fantastic and amazingly cheap. Campsite bar is very pleasant but limited food choices. Pitches are a little small but we have always been told to use 2 pitches when not busy. Friendly and helpful site, looking forward to returning early June this year 2019
