Came here to stay 2 or 3 days to recover after epic walk up Riscos Altos.
Now been here nearl 2 weeks. Found a couple of extra hills within 30km to climb plus lots of good walks from campsite.
The pitches have own water supply, electricity, very clean and level with crushed stone. No bare soil and tufted patches of grass that turn to mud if it rains. Mine is very private with fantastic elevated views over open countryside towards the village and all three major mountains I will climb whilst in the area. Villuercas, Riscos Altos and Corocho de Rocigalgo.
The toilets are spotless, showers have plenty of hot water with taps you do not have to keep pressing.
Used the bar most days and restaurant a couple of times. Good food and reasonably priced. Staff are helpful, friendly and indulge me when trying to speak Spanish.
Hope to return with wife later in the year.
This was our second visit to this site. The swimming pool is excellent with lots of space around for sunbathing. We ate on the outdoor terrace of the bar twice and had two excellent meals with very pleasant service. We arrived on a Sunday when there was a lovely atmosphere with Spanish families enjoying the end of their weekend. After that the site was quieter so if you\'re not fans of the Spanish \'buzz\' choose weekdays, for us it\'s part of why we travel to Spain, to experience the culture and try to speak Spanish. The Tuesday market in Plasencia is well worth a visit, we walked there by the river but noticed there seemed to be plenty of parking available even on market day. As well as walking or cycling to the city we went in the other direction to the reservoir which was lovely. The motorhome dump is a little bit difficult to access because of the trees but we managed. Most pitches are of a decent size and have plenty of natural shade. One of the friendliest sites we\'ve been to.
Lovely campsite with grassy pitches. Very true fly. Lovely walk along the river into town. Good good in bar.
Really helpful English speaking owner. Very relaxed atmosphere. Pool wasn\'t open during our visit but looked great.
Flat site with plenty of leafy shade. Modern toilet block but showers temperamental and hot water unpredictable. Lovely pool was closed during our visit. Beautiful river nearby with cycle/walking paths both sides enabling you to reach Plasencia easily. Lovely old town with fresh produce market in the square.
By reading the description on the ACSI APP we thought we’re going to a touring site on the side of the river. The App says 150 pitches 150 touring zero permeant pitches. Half the site was like the jungle in Calais with permeant Spanish families there for all the summer with children playing out by our van till midnight I think a new inspection is carried out in the summer to get a accurate description of this site. Swimming pool is very good one of the best I have seen.
We stayed here three nights. It was a good campsite but I’m not sure it rates that price. The staff are helpful and the bar very pleasant, outside. However the majority of the site is given over to “tent encampments” used by locals, particularly at the weekend. This doesn’t make it a very restful site! The toilets and showers are good but water temperature is very variable. It is an excellent site for access to Plasencia...with a very convenient car park down by the island, with plenty room for campervans. It is also great for cycling routes along the river both sides. It is easy to cycle to Plasencia. It is also lovely to cycle in the opposite direction along the side of the river, for miles and miles. Very peaceful and an easy ride. We didn’t find a shop at the site.. there is one there in high season I don’t know. The swimming pool wasn’t available. We moved before the weekend ( we had arrived on a Sunday) as we felt the weekend would be very noisy and busy. It was entertaining to watch the encampments growing with sides, hard floors, rain shields etc etc. Quite a feat of engineering! It is an excellent site to see the town and do some cycling but I would avoid the weekend.
Stopped on February 22nd 2018. We have used this site going northwards and southwards, the staff have always been very friendly. There were only a few visitors during our stay but it felt secure. The weather was cold but the showers were lovely and hot, we will return.
Stopped here on way south. Very good WiFi and free. Close to plasencia and lovely bike ride around nearby lake. Very clean toilet facilities but basic and cold...but it is winter. No hand soap provided in toilets. Electric hookup tripped a lot which was frustrating but good stay here and we would return.
This was our 2nd time here and we will return again. Very friendly and helpful staff. Site is well maintained and very clean. Lots of hot water. Good bar and restaurant, where prices are not over the top. Nice walking or cycle tracks straight from the campsite. Spacious pitches with plenty of shade or open sun if you prefer. Lots of lovely birds (feathered kind). Is busy at weekends so can become a bit noisy, but otherwise peaceful and great atmosphere. Pool not open when we visited, but looked good.
