Fabulous pet friendly site. Large pitches, great bar but can’t comment on the food as we only had a beer. Although no English spoken by the staff we managed to communicate. Great area, fabulous hill top towns near by. About 11 km away great town for supermarket and hook up adapter (2 pin). We did the Via Verde on our bikes - stunning. Would definitely recommend this site.
Excellent small site. Very good shower and toilet facilities and good sized pitches for 7.5m motor home. Access to Via Verde is about 2k away either by quiet road or rough track.
Site was very quiet but that\'s no excuse for the nearly empty, festering swimming pool with an old tyre floating in the green-brown murky water. Ladies toilets needed a good clean but husband said that Gents were fine.
Plus points: near an interesting medieval village, 200 metres from Via Verde, site generally tidy, reception staff welcoming.
nice site in countryside, pool not open when we visited
Toilet block good nice hot showers A lot of the pitches are on pebbles they were large and easily accomadated our 7.5 metre caravan and awning Owners were helpful and spoke a small amount of English good area for cycling/walking.
We stayed February 2018 - several other units on site. Some pitches have 10amp - others 6amp - owners explains which on arrival. We had a lovely big pitch, a little disappointing that we had to clear up dog mess from our pitch, not a small amount and had been there for some time - pitches need to be checked.
One toilet block closed as winter so gents and ladies sharing the other which was fine. Loads of hot water and good showers. Facility block not cleaned daily, likewise bins not emptied by washing up for a few days.
Area is fantastic, we too rode the Terra Alta cycle path - you can ride down as far as Tortosa or up as far as Alcaniz - the whole cycleway is nearly 100 km and all off road on an old railway, well worth the visit for that alone.
The village of Arnes is 10 minutes walk away (turn left out of site and cross road and there is a lane to the village which means you dont need to walk on main road. A small supermarket selling pretty much everything, a fabulous bread shop and the centre of the village is medieval. We spent a lovely morning there exploring.
We would visit again, maybe because its winter and the owners were busy doing improvements to the site the general cleaning and tidying was left a bit longer than usual, but its a wonderful area to explore so would go again.
We would have loved some information on the area, where the shops were, buses, details of the via verdes and cycle paths etc - would be great if the site could supply.
In such a beautiful area with so few campsites, ACSI or otherwise, it is lucky that This is such a lovely campsite. We have had 6 nights here and have loved it. The owner is very friendly. She has little English and I have very poor Spanish but we communicated well! Pitches are large, open and pretty flat although some may be a bit shallow for large motor homes. They are divided by neatly cut low privet hedges. We didn't have any problem with electrics using our kettle, microwave and hairdryer but one at a time. The shower block is very clean. Shower cubicles are large with a good dry dressing area with three hooks. Even though the shower is a push button, not my favourite, there is a mixer so you get very hot water at a good pressure. Toilet paper also provided. The block was warm in Late September and would I am sure be warm in winter. Washing up facilities also good. Very fast free wifi at the bar which when open, Thursday to Sunday while we were there had lovely bread in the morning. It got busy with locals having breakfast. There are seasonal pitches which are in a separate area. Compared to many sites these were very tidy even though mostly unoccupied when we visited. The chalets look new and very good too.
The area is wonderful. We did a fabulous bike ride on our bikes, downhill all the way, on the via verde to Benifallet and arranged a pick up with Marti from Les Roques Natur based in Arnes back to the campsite. He was excellent. Arnes has amazingly grand buildings for a tiny village and a couple of bars, shop, bakers. Horta Saint Joan is 8k away and equally pretty with more facilities. There are so many villages to see in the area plus nautical parks to explore you can easily find enough to occupy you for a week. In summary a lovely family owned, friendly campsite. We hope to return as we have more to see
We arrived here in mid July and the site was practically empty. We had the pool to ourselves. At the weekend a few more arrived but during our weeks stay it was genrally very quiet. The piches are large and flat, mostly gravel. Wifi from the restaurant is free and we could pick it up in our caravan using a wifi booster. Toilet facilties are excellent, always clean and plenty of hot water. Electricity limited to about 1 kwatt therefore our electric kettle was no good to us. Bbqs are allowed on the pitch. Set in a beautiful region, 1 km from Arnes and within a few mimutes drive you will discover other interesting medieval towns. Will definitely return to this site.
