Great site, close to Sitges lovely town with multiple shops and restaurants. Easy bike ride (7 minutes into town, mostly on cycle paths). One of the shower blocks has been modernised, with plenty of hot water. Would be plenty of shade in the summer, good, flat pitches with lots of choice this time of year.
Pleasant enough site, Sitges is very nice place with an old town with lots of tapas restaurants. The site has a bar and supermarket so don’t need to wander far if you don’t want to.
The camp site was in a great location for visiting Stiges and Barcelona as there is a bus stop right outside with a frequent fast service, takes about 1 hr to Barcelona. When we were there the road to the beach was flooded so impassable. Our biggest complaint was that the showers in our nearest toilet block was so hot that it was dangerous and could not be turned down. This however was not true of all toilet blocks as we discovered when we were leaving.
We stayed here for an overnight stop before visiting relatives in Barcelona and all I can say is it is awful. The toilet facilities were appalling and only one toilet/shower block for the whole campsite. I made a complaint due to the lack of cleanliness but the guy on reception said the cleaners only come at 8am and 12noon and that I should complain to the manager the next morning. What was ironic was that there was a ACSI inspector on the site. The swimming pool was lovely but it was full of students shouting and jumping in and out of the pool. This wasn\'t a huge problem apart from the lifeguard just looked on when they were back flipping/ diving and dominating the whole pool. NOT a pleasant experience. However, they eventually left and all the older people arrived and a lady with her children. Don\'t even get me started on the washing up facilities!!! Over priced...need to get their act together.
Reception was extremely helpful and friendly and the new toilet block was excellent and very clean. The on site restaurant is popular with locals as well as campers. Sitges is a very pleasant resort and within easy reach of Barcelona (35 mins).
Sitges is a lovely place to visit and we pass through every year. El Garrofer however is only ok for 1 or 2 nights but definitely not up to category 1 standard. Of the 5 showers available only 3 were working and only one sanitary block open and cleaned superficially once a day. The pitches are slightly marked out under tall pine trees and you can choose whichever place you want. A lot of pigeons this year. Maybe they've cut back on the staff because it did seem a little tired and in need of maintenance.
This site is near one of the nicest towns in Spain. The site was under trees, with no grass, but once we found the real toilet facilities, not the weekend ones, it was very enjoyable. It is possible to get the bus to Sitges, and to Barcelona from outside the gate. Beware of the pigeons in the trees, don't leave the roof open over the bed.
Regular visitor to this site, staff always excellent and welcoming, toilets and showers clean and with plenty of hot wate. Pitches under pine trees which provide welcome shade, but not so welcome pine resin and needles on the caravan top. Handy for Sitges and Barcelona. Can be noisy during Spanish Holliday's although it is always quiet by midnight.
A large, popular campsite with many families, especially Spanish. No privacy between pitches on bare, dusty ground but with good shade. A 40 minute walk into Sitges but a pleasant one mostly along the promenade. Good shower blocks and a good shop and bar area.
Very handy for Sitges. It seemed to me that you pitch wherever you want and in busy times some park to close for comfort. I would recomend the site, even if it is a bit noisy with kids at the week ends.
