Although this site is close to a main road and Barcelona airport, neither bother us, we were near the toilet/shower block in the middle and could not hear the road. As for the planes, you soon get used to them, you can pitch by the beach, or under trees. Electric 5amp, you can walk out the back of the site on to the beach. Here you can hire windsurfing/kite surfing equipment, or try to catch supper by fishing. Toilets are clean with paper but unisex, showers may not look much but are good, plenty of hot water, bar prices are reasonable i.e. grilled chicken salad and chips €8.50, only down side is the walk to the bus stop approx. 80mtrs alongside the busy road just inside of the crash barrier.
Ideal site for visiting Barcelona with the bus stop nearby with a half hourly bus service into the city. We opted for a beach side pitch which overlooks an amazing beach, excellent. Other pitches where ample size with easy access, the shower and toilet blocks one is outdated but clean enough and do not have the push button system in the showers, always plenty of hot water, the other Block has been renovated to a good standard, the reception staff always very helpful with good English spoken, the restaurant area always seamed busy although we never used it. There is also a very well stocked supermarket. I would recommend this site, it’s ideal for a beach holiday or visiting the city
We have booked a beach plot which includes WiFi. When we arrived we were given plot next to the end of small river which stinks very badly and WiFi doesn’t reach the parcel. We have commented it few times and every time they were giving us different reason why WiFi doesn’t work. After 2 days they admitted that this parcela is too far to have signal so they offered to change place.... we did despite so much work and result that 2 days after being in a new place WIFI doesn’t work again... now it has been almost 48 hours and again we are getting very unclear answers. If you book with WIFI in parcel included how it is possible it never works? The staff is incompetent to solve issues just try to get you away.
This is adequate campsite at best supposed to be a Cat. 1 should be a 2 or even 3. The whole site is tired and had run down feel. That said the staff are very helpful and it is the closest site to Barcelona. Also the flights over head are every 5 min until midnight and start again at 6.00. The ASCI rate the two is the same chalk and cheese.
Stayed on this site several times, it always underwhelms every single time. How it is graded Cat 1 is a complete mystery. It is a mess saved only by its proximity to Barcelona airport and city. As a site it's saving grace are the beach side pitches, but they charge extra per night if you choose to stay on one. Great views of the Med, lovely cooling sea breeze but I cant help feeling I've been mugged every time we stay there.
Campsite off main road. We had pitch on beach which was large and good. Rest of camp site looked very neglected. Roads and paths dusty and dirty. In fact the whole camp site looked neglected. Bins were overflowing. Whole place had a dirty feel about it. Reception staff were very friendly. Restaurant ok. Would not stay again. Surprised it is a category one site. Wad going to stay a couple of nights, but moved on.
This site has the atmosphere that site have when they are in a unique position by a very popular attraction. The site has some very definite pluses. It has a direct easy entrance off the C31 dual carriageway. It is on a cheap (2 Euros) every 20 minute bus service to the centre of Barcelona. The sanitary facilities were always clean and loads of hot water.
So what about the downside. Well the only real negative was the planes start at 7am taking off at the rate of one per 3 minutes so catching up on sleep here is not a possibility. The rest is “average”. Pitches of all shapes and sizes, a few with privacy but most without. The sanitary facilities are tied but functional. The shop is fairly well stocked and, as to be expected, “campsite prices”. The bar/ restaurant was again average but acceptable. The site has partial Wi-Fi coverage but it is among the most expensive we have encountered.
We used the site, for a few days, as a place to rest our weary heads each night, being out sight seeing every day for which it was OK. I certainly wouldn’t recommend it for a lazy sunbathing holiday. By the way it does have good access to a sandy beach direct from the site.
We stayed 2 nights so we could visit Barcelona on the bus from the site. Bit of a scramble getting on the bus as no queue eticat! Bus every 30 mins. Aeroplane noise from 6am until 11pm. Don't notice it much during the day but really bad first thing in the morning.lovely beach at edge of site with pitches face sea but beware they are much more expensive than the ordinary pitches. The other pitches are are small and would advice you to look around before you use he pitch they give you. Lots of longstay caravans with huge awnings and extra bits on pitch gives the site a very tatty feel. The washing, toilet and showers are badly in need of refurbishment as are old and not in very good condition. Having said all that for a short stay it's convenient for Barcelona but wouldn't use it again and wouldn't recommend it.
