After reading the reviews, we weren\'t going to stay but looked around & since not summer holidays, we stayed two nights. really quiet & great location for lots of walks. Had a swim (bit chilly) but very clear. fantastic location & great camping amoungst the oak trees.

Not what we expected at all, unsure we they say they open from 1st March, as everything on site is closed until at least June. The area for caravans was mainly flooded or had storage caravans on the better pitch’s. Not even able to visit the lake as the gate was shut. Would not visit again.

Travelling party: Couple

This is a large site, mainly for tents, the caravans and motorhomes are squeezed into a corner like sardines. There are many noisy Spanish families with lots of barking dogs, the surrounding area is great, but a couple of nights is as much as we can endure.

A rustic campsite in a forest. Very peaceful and near a beautiful lake. Electric on pitches, couldn't find motorhome Service point.
Facilities clean, but all could have benefitted from being updated.

Lovely area. Rural site in woodland. Loved it here. Shady pitches in woods. Lake and mountains nearby. Restaurant and shop not really operating in June but who cares when you're in an idyllic setting. Toilets etc looked a bit rough but were actually very clean and the showers were hot and effective. Go the road past the site until the road runs out (10k or so). The views and the walks are incredible. Recommended.

Travelling party: Seniors

Excellent big pitches, great facilities and a wonderful location. Only minor complaint would be lack of WiFi around the campsite. Only WiFi zones are the reception and bar but due to size of campsite these can be quite a distance away.

Ricardo Martins Manuelito, on this campsite in June 2013

Travelling party: Family with children, 4 – 12 years

Wi-fi impossible to connect due to distance from the park entrance area.
Plots treated badly.
The park had many insects.
Dislike and headed out the next day.

Nick Makepeace, on this campsite in October 2012

A rather strange site in a beautiful area. The pitches are about 1/3 mile from the entrance and reception, amply big enough but rather gloomy under the trees in damp weather. Do go there if only to take the walk around the lake which is stunning (walk leaflets from the excellent nearby information centre).

Wendy Ogden, on this campsite in March 2012

Travelling party: Group of friends

A rural campsite set in a large wooded area, next to a beautiful Lake. Do continue driving up the road to another lake, the views en route are spectacular. The road into Portugal (Braganca) for the day was not the easiest with lots of bends. Don't miss visiting Puebla de Sanabria.
