We received a very warm welcome at the campsite and were given full details of facilities and restaurant. We were able to pick our own pitch which was large and shaded. The walk into Salamanca is alongside the river and took about an hour. We ate in the campsite restaurant one evening which seemed popular with locals and campers. Good choice of dishes served by helpful staff.
Nice reception, good pitches but tight access to the pitches for bigger cars. Some of the best Toilet and shower facilities ever seen.
Salamanca is definitely a great place to visit.
Nice site, second time visited, would recommend. As well as being ideally situated for the north south route Salamanca is a beautiful city and well worth a visit, there is a path at the side of the camp which winded its way along the river all the way into the city, it is a 90 minutes walk, or 30 mins on a cycle, well worth the effort, a cab will cost around ten euro.
We booked this campsite in August 2017 and the staff were very friendly and helpful. When we pitched and checked the electric, however, it showed an earthing problem on every bollard we tried so unfortunately we had to move on despite the owner telling me that it was alright I do not know enough about it to override what my mains tester told me.
As most other reviews have said, it is a lovely site with ample sized pitches, although with a large outfit not a lot of space to park towing vehicle on the pitch. Great staff, great restaurant, great dog walks. The pool was lovely, especially as we were there during a heat wave. Cycle track into town or a bus stop about 800m away, half hourly service.
Very friendly staff excellent campsite restaurant. Surroundings lovely as close to river with excellent swimming for dog. Pitches small but adequate, shower block good with loo paper and hot showers. Good night stopover
This is a lovely site, the pitches were a good size, the toilet blocks, showers, hand washing facilities all clean and well light. Salamanca a short bike ride along the river, or an easy bus ride from the nearby village. The shop could have been better stocked but that being said the highlight for us was the restaurant. unbelievable value and without doubt some of the best food we have eaten whilst away. The staff were incredible, from booking in to service in the shop and restaurant. I highly recommend this site.
Friendly site. Pitches quite small. Wifi was free across the site. Toilets clean and new. Restaurant was reasonable price and food was as expected from a campsite restaurant. Easy ride along the river into the centre of Salamanca
We travelled as a couple with 2 dogs and a large caravan. Drive through a small village to get there - a bit tight but this is only a short bit. The good bits: Lovely friendly staff. Shop was open all day with essentials including fresh bread.
Toilets were immaculate and clearly pretty new (with toilet seats, toilet paper in the cubicles and hand soap at the sinks). The showers were great. Big cubicles. Hot and tap controlled not a press button.
Loved the run in to Salamanca along the tow path and cycle path. Loads of running routes available to try!
Choice of pitches. Other stuff The washing machines have been set to a 30 degree 30 minute cycle.. But my clothes didn\'t come out that clean and the soap was still on clothes on 2 of the washes. The lights in the shower and toilet and motion controlled so I found myself in darkness on many occasion! Bar/restaurant is only open at weekends until April - we missed having coffee on the terrace. All looked lovely but was closed for our stay. Lots of one night stop overs so a lot of movement. Gates are locked midnight until 8am which is great but the noise of the opening and closing of the gates at these times sounded like a warehouse being broken in to! Would we return? Most definitely. A really nice spot to stay for a few nights!
We arrived with a very warm welcome, such a friendly atmosphere. The pitches were quite small but adequate for what we needed. Toilet and shower facilities were lovely and clean with plenty of hot water. We had hoped to walk in to Salamanca but discovered on arrival that it\'s 6km each way, too far I\'m afraid but decided to visit the city anyway. A taxi was ordered at reception for us and Salamanca is not to be missed, beautiful! We ate at the restaurant in the evening which was excellent.
