Good stop over site though very busy, restaurant good value. Walk or cycle into Burgos by the river and busy with others plus joggers dog walkers into the evening. Cathedral a great site full of history. Easy drive to Bilbao or several campsites nearby for ferry crossing if preferred.
Excellent entrance and pitches for a 14 metre outfit. Good bus to Burgos right outside entrance. Very popular site kate afternoon and seems to be mainly 1 or 2 nights as most leave the next morning. Good clean toilet blocks.
Great position to cycle into Burgos which is very interesting. Don’t miss the Human Evolution exhibition at the University. Pool is good but a little small. Out of main season we had plenty of room, with no need to book. Site restaurant and bar OK but basic (although great tv for World Cup). Shop does not contain much of use. Showers etc fine but a little dated.
We travelled off-peak season with a caravan and this was a one-night stop. The location was very good and we walked into Burgos and back (40mns each way). Nice green surroundings but sports and pool not applicable. We didn’t eat at the campsite but the shop was fine. The pitches are small and cramped but adequate for overnight. I wouldn’t stay in high season or for more than a couple of nights.
Our second visit to this site. It is very conveniently situated if travelling South from either Santander or Bilbao. The good thing about the site is it's location within the Fuentes Blancas park which provides a lovely walk into Burgos, about 20 mins on foot. Burgos is a great city to visit and the Pinxos are very good. We ate in the campsite restaurant one evening. It was reasonable value but basic food. We had paella, which was generous and well cooked, then I had chicken and my husband lomo (ham) good sized portions but only served with chips. A bottle of wine and bread was included and coffee. The pitches are not well marked out and it was cramped and crowded even out of season. There are not enough water points, we only found one and we weren't sure it was potable water. The showers are clean with plenty of hot water. The pool was closed when we were there.
Very convenient for the town, pitches are adequate size and level, although the well worn grass could be a bit of a mud bath in the rain
Showers showing signs of age but clean and plenty of hot water
Washing facilities very good
Nice open feel and very friendly, helpful staff
Friendly and helpful reception. Lovely walk along river to the outskirts of Burgos took us 45mins, probably about another 45 mins. to cathedral.
Mercadona is 2kms. Site can get very busy but ideal for a couple of nights.
This site is Ideal for an overnight stop Free wifi which worked well across the site. Quiet apart from locals in the bar.
Large site with grass pitches, only one chemical disposal point, and one water point at the rear of the toilet block. Wi-Fi is rubbish. Electric is only 6A, only just adequate. On the plus side, it's close to town and the bus stops outside the gates and the cycle route from the camp to the town centre is excellent so the cathedral is easy to reach.
We stopped on the way south, very easy site to find I think this would be a lovely site in the summer, as we were there in January-7 we didn't see it at its best. The toilet block was heated plenty hot water for a shower. The restaurant was being done up so can't say how good it is.
Would use again no problem.
Handy for a stop over.
