Thought we had arrived at site for travellers. The toilet facilities were clean but extremely dated the near by beach and harbour were nice. Wish we had stayed in Haro and as only took half a day to get from there to here plenty of time for the ferry.
Good location near a lovely long sandy beach which allows you to easily visit Bilbao and Santander, and a little further to the Picos de Europa. A very relaxed campsite and reception staff very friendly. The toilet/showers block near our pitch was a little dated but always very clean and functional (there is a newer block at other end of the site.) Grass pitches well maintained but not large.
Overall a good campsite, open pitches and easy access. Shower and toilet facilities are dated but clean and functional.
No pool but access to a beautiful beach is only 100 Mts away. Swimming is safe.
A convenient first night stop on arrival at Santander being just off the auto via. Friendly welcome from Luis Cueva the campsite manager who allowed us chose a double pitch as we did not wish to unhook the van. Clearly an old site which, in an ideal world, could do with an upgrade. However the facilities were clean and well maintained. Hot water was limited and only cold water available in the wash basins. A cafe, immediately outside the front gate, served basic food and was cheerful with locals. Pitches are well shaded with a large proportion taken up by permanent residents who although clearly enjoying themselves, at some volume, were never intrusive. There is, reportedly, a nice sandy bay closeby with water sports although we did not visit. A good overnight stop but not for much longer.
Good open site close to the ports. Friendly staff and decent toilets and showers. Only stayed one night so unable to comment on surrounding area.
Initial welcome poor with no site layout offered or . adequate information result getting stuck at a dead end. Site noisy from A8 road traffic and also from constantly barking dogs in adjacent houses even throughout the night. Noisy over the weekend with pitched vehicles very close together. Would really only recommend for overnight stop on way to and from ferry although area around is well worth exploring.
Visited for 3 nights. Warm welcome although limited English spoken. Large camping area approx. half of which are 'static' vans used by locals. Can be busy at weekends.
Good restaurant on site food quality very good reasonable cost. Access to beach via through restaurant premises.
Toilet/Shower facilities although clean are very dated and cramped.
Convenient site on route to both Santander and Bilbao ferry routes. Would visit again but only for stop overs.
Rather open, characterless site but close to beach and good restaurants. Friendly staff and decent shop. Two buses needed to reach Bilbao and no late buses.
A site with very friendly and helpful staff. I have a large unit and had great difficulty accessing the site from the road, but the staff came to help and were very useful. Do beware when approaching the site from Santander that the turning is very acute and the road surface drops about 30 cm at one point of you are not correctly positioned.
I booked the site for three nights from 27th August, without using ACSI and did not think the ACSI rates applied until a September. When checking-in the owner noticed my ACSI Card and took it from me to alter my booking as the ACSI rate started on the 28th August. A great saving and many thanks to the owner for his homesty.
Entrance to and from the campsite was quite frightening. Very sharp bend with very steep hill to negotiate immediately. We found the pitches to be extremely pleasant with beautiful views. Very noisy during the night with late night revellers coming home talking extremely loudly without any consideration for other campers. Having said that, we would visit the site again as it`s location is very convenient for the ferry.
