Camping Caravaning Laguna-Playa is a campsite with 141 touring pitches. During low season, between 01-01-2019 - 21-06-2019 and 08-09-2019 - 31-12-2019, the nightly rate is €20,- at one of the 141 touring pitches at Camping Caravaning Laguna-Playa in Torre del Mar (Málaga).
A quiet campsite with plenty of trees and under good management. The toilet facilities are very well maintained and the pitches are spacious. The site is almost on the beach and within walking distance of Torre del Mar.

Arrived at the site in March 2016, greeted by an extremely unfriendly senior male member of staff. He seemed only to be able to communicate by grunting. We booked in for one night, handed over our passports, and then went to look at the pitch. On seeing how dreadful the site was (everybody was cheek by jowl on a very small pitch) we decided not to stay, and the said member of staff refused to hand back our passports. After insisting that he returned them, he did so by throwing them back at us in an aggressive manner. The site operated on a one way in, one way out system, and manoeuvering is extremely difficult for larger units. Not a good experience!!
I used my Sat nav to take me they and it took me to camping Torre del Mar site which is in book but not on phone app and I stayed 0ne night pitch full of dog muck a cat dieing in bush no help of staff and at night it was like going to a concert with all the noise so want be coming again and I will make sure I get the right camp next time
Wash-basins too narrow and taps with bad maintenance. Few toilets in comparison with the numbers of people.
Ground of plots badly levelled.
Smell from sewers.
Many dogs bothering.
We spent 3 days here, and it was 3 days too long. This is a place for the long-term over-wintering northern Europeans who build to the extremities of their pitch, and at first glance every van is joined together in one long shack. We had the one and only pitch available and had to chase a German car off it. They drove it away in bad grace, as though I had the temerity to take their parking spot.
Why they have to connect you up to the electricity I don't know, but it took an hour and 3 reminders for them to come with the key to the cabinet. The pitches are OK but there is no privacy and you understand how a sardine feels. Having said that the facilities are very good but the staff look flustered and they need more people at reception.
I suspect this place is much better come March when most of the over-wintering people have left, but for the tourer like us, it is a place to be avoided in the low season.
Toilets and reception spotless. Site let down by too many trees and covers to keep out the shade. Ground and surroundings of pitch tatty and full of lumps of concrete, wires, pipes etc Wi-fi good and also a good situation for cycling to the town
Our initial reaction to this site was it was like a travellers' camp. The pitches were large but no money has been wasted on landscaping.
The staff were friendly and helpful (especially when we had to move pitch due to an infestation of blackflies)
The ground was very hard, so "tenters" beware, you will need hard ground pegs.
The washing up facilities were 50% cold water only and 50% mixed.
Our first night was a Saturday night and very noisy. My wife asked the Spanish family next door to keep it down at 1.30 and there were young lads driving round in cars blaring loud music well after that. The disco in Torre del Mar could be heard as a bass thump for most of the night.
Laguna Playa was a grey dust beach and it was about 1km to the Paseo Maritimo which was beautiful for an evening stroll.
WiFi is free but restricted to one device per pitch.
There is a pool but you have to take your own chairs as there are no sunbeds
We would have moved on after one night, but had places to visit in the area ( I can recommend Velez-Malaga itself)
My advice is don't bother as I don't know why this is a category one site!
We stayed here a week mid May. It was our 2nd visit. We have dogs and that is primarily the reason we stay here as the dog friendly beach is a 5 minute stroll just out of the campsite. There are many restaurants along the esplanade which has an excellent cycle path running alongside for several Kilometres which makes for a very pleasant ride with the mountains in view. The campsite itself needs a bit of getting used to and first impressions ( including ours) can be questionable but we felt at home and found the staff helpful and polite. The showers are great, hot and powerful. Shop only open from 10 til 1 but close by is a well stocked supermarket. For cycle and dog owners this is a good spot.
Nice friendly campsite, almost completely in the shade. Close to good beaches and very popular with Spanish families. It was a bit noisy at weekends due to the cafe del mar nightclub nearby. Torre del mar is a nice resort with lots of places to eat and within easy walking distance of the site.
We stayed here for 3 nights. At this time of the year (February) it is not a place for the tourer, as the site was stuffed full of over-winter, long-term campers from all over Europe, building right to the edges of their pitches, such that from the entrance it resembled one long crysalis. Indeed, we had to chase a German couples' car off our pitch before we could park. They weren't pleased - we had the temerity to want their car parking space!
Why you have to wait for reception to come and connect your electric hookup I don't know. We waited an hour, despite 3 reminders, for them to come.
The site does have excellent toilet facilities, a shop and restaurant, and Torre del Mar was pleasant and had everything you needed in the way of shops and restaurants, including a good bus service into Malaga. However, the reception was disorganised, less than helpful, and the pitches are quite small with no privacy. This really is a 'quart into a pint pot' site (we felt like a sardine), and I suspect it is much better between Easter and October when all the over-winter sun-seekers have gone home.
Staying for three nights. Site well organised. Toilet/showers exceptionally clean. Staff helpfully.
The restaurant on site is amazing and a must to eat at whilst here!
Very close to the beach and a bus ride into town.
Would definitely stay here again.
