A good campsite for stopovers or as a base for visiting Granada, the Sierra Nevada and its southern edge (Alpujarras). Good toilet facilities. The campsite has a quiet location and is close to the beach. Plenty of shade.

Parked opposite to look at site - it was like a travelers site - loads of what looked like permenant vans being used - the touring pitches were untidy over grown and to be honest pretty poor. Surprised that ACSI puts its mark behind this site - I certainly wouldn't. The one next door has an ACSI sticker - it's friendly clean and a cone nice play to be - beach across lad and restaurant on site even though it is only a Small site - the camp is called Camping Playa Granada.
Best suited to a small unit. There are many long termers on this site who have built right to the corners of their pitches, thus making it difficult for larger units to turn the corners. Laundry and showers good. Heated toilet block.
When we arrived on site it took quite a while to be seen. The man on reception did not say much, and just told us to pick a pitch. The site is level but quite tight. The place looked neglected and there were many pitches and caravans covered with blue tarpaulin. We eventually found a pitch we could fit on(motorhome 7.1meters). Site level but untidy, toilets and showers spotless, however only luke warm water. Washing machine worked well. This site was also the most expensive we have been on in two months, so was disappointed and would not come back. Surrounding area good for cycling.
Camp site situated almost on beach, Reception good English and welcoming, bar area very nice if not a little over priced, swimming pool excellent, shower Block, one of two, only one open, excellent, very clean and modern, wifi, free 20 mins very good, now for the not so good, we only booked for one night which was enough, the pitches and the road going round he site are over grown, narrow and very unkempt, there are trees over hanging the access road which will run over your van possibly causing damage, pitches are wide enough but due to the trees any thing over 6 meter will struggle, unfortunately we will not return here unless some serious work is carried out to rectify the highlighted problems. Would not recommend this site.
Loved this place. Very quiet when we were there, might be different in high season. Managed a pitch with sea views. Minor road outside but quite quiet. Large landscaped carpark opposite. Good pool but only open 5 hours a day. Clean well appointed toilet block - 2nd one closed. Disabled facility only available at closed block. Excellent prom to walk/ pushchair/wheelchair towards Motril. Beach dark sand, several convenient beach restaurants. Can recommend a restaurant called Natalia just off the walkway towards Motril. Lovely regional food. Bus every hour from just outside (signs said every ½ hour but never saw the 5 past, only the 25 to.
Amazing baby room would fascinate any toddler.
We used the site as a 2 night stopover. The site is situated on the coast next to a small town with a few bars and restaurants close by. Whilst the beach was wide and clean, as it was grey shingle it wasn't has nice as other beaches we have visited in Spain. The pitch was quite large but was overgrown and could have done with a little tidying up. The toilet/shower block was modern, clean with plenty of hot water and even a full length mirror. The wifi signal on our pitch was very intermittent. Not sure if we would use this site again if we were in the area.
Arrived for two days and stayed for a week! Lovely site, toilets and showers clean and water always hot at whatever time I visited. Surroundings are pleasant in fact the site is on the seafront over a quiet road. With one of the most beautiful car parks I have ever seen. The beach is very clean but, in common with most on this coastline, it is that nasty black sand/ gravel. Still the promenade was beautiful with a good cycle track.....Yes, Internet had to be paid for on the site but was excellent when we were there, you did get 20 minutes per day free though but that wasn't enough for us. Motril was a surprisingly pleasant town and the bus service every half hour stops just outside the camp gates ... Pitches are a reasonable size but do not have water, so fill up when you arrive. Larger motor homes might have a struggle getting onto some pitches so check before you book in! We will certainly return.
Was not too impressed. One toilet block out of action. Hot water a bit sporadic. Pitches a bit tight and very close together. Don't think it's ACSI but does a price match. Beach at Poniente I'd decidedly unattractive with grey shingle type beach. Probably would not return.
Nice site, conveniently situated. Pitches small although there are some bigger than others, we were lucky and found an empty pitch which was not only big enough but had fantastic view of beach and sea. Toilets very well heated in the evening. My wife tells me the kiddies facilities in the ladies where second to none, somewhere to bring the grand children in the future. Pay for wifi which was poor. Negative: there were long stayers who seemed to think it was all right to take up empty pitches for parking, one even put a table and chairs on the opposite pitch when they went out to look like it was occupied. Stayed for 7 days (wished we stayed longer) and will return.
Pitches quite a tight fit had to be at an angle to fit in, Showers were warm but not fantastic and a bit smelly at times the locks on the cubical toilet doors either did not work or difficult to operate. Only one washing machine for the whole camp.Small camp food shop expensive, but with large supermarket not far away.
Good cycling flat small roads, good beach.
