Well this site must have improved a lot based on previous reviews. We can’t fault it, the staff, the facility, including the hot water in the showers. It is cold water to wash up dishes with but didn’t bother me as Fairy washing up liquid does the job! Can’t fault the staff. Pitch fabulous, gardens and shrubs beautiful. Pool open but we didn’t use it so can’t comment but it looks well services and the surrounds immaculate. Easy to get to the bus stop for a trip to see the mosque. Well recommended.
Was a little concerned about going to this site after reading the reviews, but nothing else on route. Was pleasantly surprised as could not find any fault with the site or facilities, showers very hot, cleaned regularly. Wifi was the best we have had in Spain. decided to stay two nights spent a day in Córdoba which is well worth a visit.
Campsite let down entirely by the poor showers - yes it\'s explained in the leaflet you\'re given that the hot water takes a long time to come through and you should keep pushing the button, but to do that you have to stand in the cold water! I had an umbrella with me and used that to press the button but I still got soaking wet as it is a cubicle with no recess for your clothes so nowhere to hide! As the button had to be pressed for so long - and it was a really hard button, difficult to press, and giving only a couple of seconds each time, you couldn\'t keep it pressed in - the floor got flooded so you\'re actually standing in a couple of inches of water as well!
Oh and this site charges for everything - the ACSI price is 19 euros but they charged an extra 3.30 for our trailer, even though we still only occupied one pitch. The supposed free internet didn\'t materialise, no signal at all. The bus to Cordoba is down a long road, about 15 minutes walk, and only goes at 07.15, 08.00, 09.30, 14.15 and 16.15.
In the high season this is probably a good site but in the low season it\'s overpriced for what you get, even at ACSI rates. We now wish we had used the Aire in Cordoba.
Opened sack of rubbish not cleaned up for 2 days outside toilet block. Swimming pool cleaning system not working; green slime in overflows not healthy. Showers never got hot even after 3 days of trying.
Stopped one night and it was VERY quiet. Had pool to ourselves but everything was closed - no restaurant or shop open in early September. Very helpful staff with advice next morning on leaving about where to park free in Córdoba and a free city map.
nice site close to a small town. toilet / shower block clean, but quite small (only 4 wcs and showers for each sex). close to bus stop for bus to Cordoba.
The campsite is fairly easy to find. The man in reception was not very friendly or helpful. The Bar/ Restaurant was shut and the shop was opened if you wanted anything . The site itself with hedges around each pitch was not easy to drive around . We were going to go in to Cordoba the following day but decided we did not want to stay another night . Would not go back and this is the first campsite in the book that we have decided that.
A great little site, very quiet when we were there - though as is traditional, locals appeared on Friday night to occupy some of the cabins for the weekend with a bit of TV/children noise. Really helpful staff with all tje info for bus trip into Cordoba. The shower 'situation' mentioned in most reviews, is explained in the introductory paperwork. On our visit, the hot water was abundant - funnily enough, it being 30°C+, we actually wanted cold showers so used our own! if you like dark sites, this is the one for you. The site lights go out nice and early and the night sky would have been fantastic - had it not been for the full moon!
We enjoyed staying 2 nights at this site, mid September to relax, when it was very quiet and plenty of choice : walk round to check out your own pitch as varying in shape and size. We chose no.46 at the back of the site, very private and near the lovely, although rather cold swimming pool where you need take your own chairs but plenty of lawn to sit/lie on. The wash block is fine, and showers ok although only warm, and take your own paper in case the loo roll on entry has run out! No hot water for dishes or clothes washing. They offer a laundry service 7kg or 12kg. Fresh bread daily if ordered the day before.
The town of Villafranca is very close but is a warren of small streets and we initially struggled to find a supermarket so ask at reception (English spoken) who have a map.
Expensive for what it is, no shop, no bar. Bar has been closed for 4 years. Nearest shop is about 2km away, not exactly local. Owners charge for everything, cars, trailers, visitors. The gate closes at 10.45 so no chance of a relaxing drink with friends in village. We felt as if we were under curfew, had to be back at a certain time or would get locked out. No chance of a couple of coffee when you use the internet. Internet sparse and intermittent Owner not interested. Gave the impression he couldn't care less if he had visitors or not. A very bad attitude. We won't return.
