We arrived on the first weekend of the Spanish school holidays. A great site at this time of year if you have kids. We were allocated a pitch which was unsuitable for our camper van. Small pitches “ look before you buy” ! There are some lovely pitches that we were not offered. Efficient and ok facilities but could not cope with the number of people. Quiet at night.
A beautiful well kept site, good pitches and very clean sanitary facilities. The shady trees make the place special. The beach here is stunning but it is quite a walk or cycle to get to it .We walked along the beach to the lighthouse. The pool was opening the day after we left it looked lovely. The campsite shop is well stocked and There are supermarkets at Barbate 5miles away.
Excellent site the best one we stayed on in Spain, finished staying 9 nights and could have quite easily stayed longer, but heading to Portugal. Would definitely recommend.
Great site and I agree with most previous positive comments. Only things to add was that showers were a bit pathetic (tho clean), the receptionist could have been more helpful and I think the site is most suited either for those who like to drive around or very outdoorsy types. We cycled to the beach and tried to cycle round the nature reserve (got lost). Late March many things nearby were closed and we had 30mph winds! That’s windy!!
Lovely site. Friendly reception staff. Good sized pitches. Excellent sport facilities. The nearby beach is fantastic. Real peace and quiet too. WiFi excellent.
We were recommended to try this site because we are musicians and from October the site is popular with a group of Brits who come here for the winter, many of who play and sing. We intended to stay 2 weeks and ended up staying for 35 nights, our entire holiday! There are lots of things to like about the site. Here’s a list. Location, it’s a short walk to several lovely beaches. The area is a popular destination for Spanish holidaymakers. Within a short drive are beautiful towns with good supermarkets. There are lots of bars and restaurants within walking distance all serving good food. The on site restaurant is very good too. The site is small and quiet after 12 midnight. At weekends the site fills up with Spanish but after October most Brits, Germans and Dutch. There’s a reasonably priced and well stocked camp shop, try the fresh baked bread, available every day. The site staff work hard to keep the site nice. The showers are feee, lovely hot water and spotlessly clean. The pitches are a good size with plenty of shade provided by the umbrella pines. Security is excellent with a unobtrusive but high fence all around the site and a number plate recognition barrier. There’s a car wash, you can wash and wax your car but it’s useful for cleaning ground sheets etc. There are nice walks through the forest at the back of 5he camp site, great for dogs. If you stay a month the site fee reduces a night and if you stay 2 months it’s less a night which includes 16 amp electricity. Dogs are free. There’s water at every pitch so we hooked up to the tap so no filling of the aqua roll necessary. Th e climate is excellent, 25 deg C and sunny most of the time for our stay. The only negative is the pitches are sandy and when it rains it turns to a orange mud that seeps onto your ground sheet. We got over this by putting a waterproof tarp underneath which solved the problem. It’s a great site, highly recommended.
Really nice site in a great area - we would return without question. However, we arrived on 20th June and were outside the ACSI discount period - strange for Spain (and France) so we paid a night - expensive. Having said this, the site was good and we had a super pitch. The nearby beaches are ‘to die for’ and the cafe and bakers at Levante in Los Caños de Meca were excellent!
I was amazed when I turned up I was expecting a very basic Spanish site based on the reviews on this site. Was I surprised and delighted to find not only a very well run campsite with electric and water on each pitch! Really good services locally and on site, probably one of the best I have stayed in recently. Lovely location great for walking/cycling and drinking/eating and perfect for bank holiday weekend
We stayed for 3 nights late September. We loved this campsite. Very quiet during the week. Very fast free WiFi and we stayed near the back. Lovely golden sand beach a scooter ride through the houses. A lovely small cafe/ restaurant on the way to the beach La Tortulia. Great swimming pool with bar. White painted bungalows. Campsite very well kept. Will definitely return.
We loved this campsite staying under the stone pines. We stayed during the week in late September and it was quiet. Beautiful swimming pool and mice bar by the pool with very well priced drinks. Gorgeous beach and good places to eat in Zahora.
