Very disappointed with this site having read good reviews. Only one toilet block was open (though very clean) and it was hard to find a pitch even vaguely close by as there were lots of semi-permanent weekenders occupying all the shady pitches by the open toilet block. We had problems trying to pay when we left in the morning as reception was closed and the person around was a random person by the bar. Had to leave him with cash as payment, on trust. The pitches in the sun were enormous and rather randomly laid out - hard to find one with shade. Flies everywhere which took the edge off sitting outside too. Not our favourite campsite on this trip!
We stayed one night, it\'s set in a nature park, we found the navigating around the site difficult as well as getting in and out of the pitch, in my opinion the site was not designed by a caravan enthusiast. We did visit in low season, which might explain it looking unkept. I was amazed at the total lack of. Wild life, it was almost sterile except for flies, they were in abundance.
Just spent two nights here on large flat plot in semi shade, some plots have no shade. Bar on site, closed Tuesdays but Pizza bar 10 min walk away. Swimming pool being repaired for summer. Good EHU and waste facilities, toilets cleaned 3x a day. Reception staff great and speak English. WiFi around reception, Movistar 3G elsewhere. Very quiet at night.
Having read reviews about the good sizes of the pitches we decided to visit this campsite. We have a motorhome that is 8.5m including our bike rack. The receptionist was very helpful BUT I should have walked the site rather than driven around it to find a suitable pitch. Some of the bends on the roads around were certainly tight and access into most pitches was difficult for our long motorhome. After an altercation with a pillar marking out a pitch, where we damaged our wheel arch, we decided to move on to Granada. The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful but didn’t advise about which pitches would be suitable for a long motorhome. Avoid if you have a long vehicle.
A lovely rural retreat. Great dog walks - long or short and circuitous. One of the bathrooms was under development - if the campsite was busy (which it really wasn't), you would struggle with only one wc/shower block. Staff were lovely, pool was great, some shady pitches but many of those had prickly leaf fall that was painful through flip flops and on dog paws so we stuck to a less shady pitch.
Lovely campsite in beautiful area. Pitches are huge more like small padocks. Only drawback was that the campsite and particularly the bar area was infested with swarms of flies.
Arrived 7June. Very peaceful and quiet, no dogs, cockerels or church bells etc. Huge pitches sun and shade. Toilet block kept clean and fairly new, some refurbishment of other blocks ongoing. Shop is very limited so stock up before arriving. Bread available at the bar. Bar is reasonably priced. We did not use the cafe. Free wifi at reception. Unfortunately the pool was still shut when we left on 12 June. Lots of walking/cycling. Castle, botanical gardens and church worth visiting. We walked up to the caves but found them permanently closed off with very high metal fencing so could not see anything!
Very peaceful site, would recommend.
This site in the hills is a little gem. The pitches are large with a variety of shading. We visited in autumn so chose a pitch that ran west to east and pitched facing south so we had sun all day long. The staff were enthusiastic and very helpful. There was only once toilet/shower block available as the other is being refurbished but the one in use is cleaned three times per day and so spotless. The area has much to offer walkers and cyclists, we thoroughly recommend this site and will return.
Very few vans here in January. A bit cold at night but lovely during the day. Beautiful surroundings with great walks and cycling on the doorstep. The staff are enthusiastic, friendly and helpful. There's a good restaurant on site which was very busy at the weekend with locals. People need to be a bit more adventurous and try this lovely site in the winter.
Excellent location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good food at the bar and very modern facilities. The toilet and shower blocks are cleaned 3 times every day and are spotless. A lovely girl comes at weekends to do activities for the children. Can't recommend highly enough. We will definitely be back again soon.
