We stayed 2 nights on this site to visit the Lake, Castle and town nearby. The site was pleasant but pitches generally quite small.
We enjoyed food from the campsite restaurant and bar.
The staff were helpful and we enjoyed our stay.
Arrived just after lunch and by 4pm the site was full. This is obviously first stopover site into Slovenia. The pitches are very small and the one we were allocated had a tree which limited fitting in the motor home. We really need to saw of some branches. We were given the option to change, but all I wanted to do was have a cold beer. The lake side position is fabulous but unfortunately the thunderstorm late afternoon and evening sent everyone running for cover. We would have stayed longer had the weather forecast been good. Toilet facilities were new but due to the rain lots of muddy foot prints on the floors, even though a shoe washing trough was provided outside. Would go back
This campsite has good facilities and is well placed for visiting Bled. It’s alongside the Lake and you can take a boat to the island or the main town. There is a road “tourist train “that stops outside the campsite and circum navigates the lake, stopping at a number of places. The restaurant and bar are good value and serve a reasonable range of meals. It looks like there have been a lot of gravel hardstandings installed in the last few months and, even though there had been a lot of rain, we did not experience any issues with muddy pitches. I have two criticisms. We enjoy camping in the fresh air. Sadly, due to the provision of wood fire heated outdoor hot tubs in the glamping area we were smoked out both days. The site is in a valley so smoke can accumulate. It might have been possible to move further up the site but we moved on. Secondly, the 1 euro per day “registration fee” in addition to the tourist tax and ACSI price is a bit cheeky.
This site has improved tremendously going by previous reviews. There are now plenty of hard standings and new electric hook up points. A third toilet block was being finished when we stayed. The shower blocks have underfloor heating. The restaurant serves good food and has an excellent choice of beer, according to my husband! A new decked area facing the lake with ice cream bar should be open on April 30th. Shop has good range of food etc and bread man visits every morning.Endorse all previous positive comments especially location.
Beautiful setting and quite handy - hired a rowing boat to go to Bled island near site entrance, as was the tourist train. A 6 km walk takes you round the lake and the gorge is a short cycle ride away, so excellent location with loads to do. Yes the pitches tend to be a little muddy and it's a long stretch to the electric boxes. Supermarket good as was the site restaurant - helpful and friendly waiter!
My only gripe is the addition of a "registration fee". Have noticed this at a couple of sites this year and it looks more like an excuse to bring the headline price within the ACSI scheme whilst still screwing more cash out of campers. Unimpressed!
as stated a good site for yhe location . its the only one on lake bled however drainage is an issue. we arrived in rain and as said before it floods. there's a stream one side and tue ground has a high water table. power outlets are spread about so you need long leads . Having said that its a great clean site all toilet blocks open . It is mid sept so the site has been used a lot and just had a huge rowing competition. The site just needs some tweeking to be 5 star.
Stayed two nights, en route from Croatia. Bled very popular, so traffic through to site very busy. Site also busy, pitches very rutted from previous bad weather although rock solid after a heatwave! Sanitary facilities good but hot water often tepid, didn't matter too much in the heat! Walk round lake lovely and walk from close by up to high viewpoint tough but worthwhile for the view. As said many pitches needed v long cables and some pitches tight for larger outfits.
Loved the location of this site. We had pitch 244 up at the back of the site and as it had rained a lot in previous week it was very dry, also it was close to toilets but you need a extension cable for electrics. Be aware it is almost .5 mile to supermarket and shop all downhill and uphill on way back. Site was busy all the time we were there, very popular place as world rowing competition was happening. It just needed a couple of more toilet/shower blocks to make it 5 star.
Lovely here but don't follow your sat nav, follow the main road! The site has valley views and sits on scenic side of Lake Bled with delightful 30min walk around lakeside in either direction to access Bled. Excellent walks and rides from site itself. Easy to walk to Bled castle and 16k round walk to Vintgar Gorge. Warning- very boggy pitches when we were there!
It had been raining before our arrival and consequently a large section of the site was out of use and the part in use was also muddy in places. Choose your pitch with care! It's also not really clear where the pitches are.
Lovely location in a wooded valley, with beautiful walks and bike rides either way round the lake to Bled. Bike hire is available on site apparently. Good shade from trees is available throughout the site.
The toilet and shower facilities are quite new and were kept very clean whilst we were there, though there was a shortage of hot water for showers.
Even in May it was pretty busy and late arrivals had a restricted choice of mud-free pitches.
We visited the castle, but were not over-impressed other than with the views.
In short: well worth staying here for the fantastic scenery and walks/rides (and local speciality, Bled cream slice!)
