I used this site for a stop over on the back from the South of Portugal to France. I wish the weather had if been better as I would have stayed for a week. Welcomed with open arms and a glass of wine. A very welcoming and genuine reception registration. Booked in in the bar where there were locals and campsite users. Great atmosphere. Site is nice and clean. All well organised but relaxed. I arrived at 8pm and no issues with check in. Love the feel of the place. Rustic, in the hills, small villages nearby. They have a weekly itinery from walking to local chicken Piri Priri man visiting. I would definitely recommend.

Lovely peaceful campsite with very friendly staff and spacious pitches. Great value at ACSI rates. Good wifi at the pitch. Toilet/shower facilities a bit eccentric as already noted, but very clean and spacious. No shops nearby, but bread van visits twice daily except Sunday. Grocery van once or twice a week. On Mondays a friendly man arrives in his van about 4pm, takes orders for cooked chicken and this is ready for collection about 6pm. Various communal meals available, we went to a Portuguese style buffet evening - very nice and a good way to meet fellow travellers. Didn't use the pool, but looked lovely. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return.

A very remote site where our Tom Tom had an argument with us right up to a km before reaching our destination -with relief! Things quickly improved when we were offered a welcome drink and lots of information. The staff were lovely. The pitches are unmarked so very spacious. Two bakers do the rounds at 8 am and 9 am and a green grocer 2 or 3 times a week. You do need to stock up before you get there.
The downside is that the toilets/showers are rather strange, in the first block there are only two toilets each of which are in a large room with a basin and shower. If the site is busy there would be a good chance of not being able to find a vacancy!
The other downside is the 'Dog Walk' is definitely out of bounds, the grass was waist high and we followed a path and found ourselves walking into a swamp.
The site has several marked walks of which one we tried out. There are no instructions just a Google Earth Map which wasn't very useful, needless to say we got lost but was a very interesting walk and good fun. It was a sociable site, we joined in with the BBQ and had a good evening.

A quiet peaceful site set in beautiful countryside. A lovely warm welcome and complimentary drink. Swimming pool clean and warm, no sun loungers though. While we were there a man came and cooked chicken from his van, very tasty. Also there are two bread vans each day and another day a well stocked fruit and veg van arrived. Toilet facilities are clean and spacious but there are not enough.

This site is absolutely superb - set in the most beautiful tranquil surroundings and run by the Pouwels family so perfectly. A drink on arrival, a comprehensive list of walks and a daily entertainment list (which included a communal BBQ) were some of the extras offered - this together with the friendliness of all the staff and the exceptional sanitary facilities puts this site in a League of its own.

A lovely quiet site run by a couple who speak fluent dutch, hence the vast majority of the clientele hail from the Netherlands. The couple are very welcoming and friendly..
Spacious and adequate pitches in sun, shade or a mixture.
Toilets are adequate, always very clean. Lovely swimming pool.
Two bread vans visit the site daily.
If you are there on barbeque night, do go, it is great value.

Terrible place, greeted by George and a drunken Dutchman who boasted at being the site entertainment and who kept helping himself to drinks from behind the bar. Not a good first impression. Very disgusting behaviour. Tried to charge us extra for a car so had to negotiate price. Site has lots of species of snakes in wildlife area, according to helpful Dutch neighbours. Facilities tired and worn out. Intended to stay for 2 weeks, left after 3 days, too tired to move before. We wish we could have turned round as soon as we got there but too tired to find another place to go to. Isolated and remote, no restaurant. Area beautiful, lousy camp site, won't return.

t about 20.10 pm when this seems to be limited to about 10 minutes maximum. Now for local church clock which isn't really a clock but a local church van playing the time over a tannoy, about 3 minutes before the hour. This is later followed by unknown hymns and chanting from presumably a Roman Catholic source but it sounds rather authentic... Now for the grand revelation of this sight. If you have a dog, listen carefully "Do NOT take it on the dog walk". This is because in the wildlife area behind the camp-site the long grass is full of a variety of venomous snakes of all sizes and there is a very good chance that if the dog is off the lead then it could be bitten. If this review appears comical then it is not intended. It is an open and honest review and if you wan't to tempt providence and waste your money, make your own choice. It's up to you but we have provided an unbiased review.

A welcoming glass of wine on arrival was a perfect way to settle into this site. Beautiful surroundings if you like to get away from it all and following their marked walks around the area was an added bonus. Thank you Jorge & Lyida for making us welcome.
