Charming campsite located in a lovely fishing village with a rocky, sandy beach. From the harbour you can walk southward along the coast on a wooden deck path. Good connection to Porto via Povoa-Porto metro line. Lovely new toilet block. Good wifi.

This campsite was perfect in every way so much so our three nights turned into fifteen nights the facilities were spotless we had a super pitch excellent value for money the staff were friendly and very helpful. A lot of campsites could learn a lot on how to run a campsite from Campisimo. My wife and I will return as we had a wonderful time here 5 stars to Campisimo.
receptionist very helpful shop reasonable well stocked only down side says good wfi which it may well be but it is only available in the bar and we are parked at the far side of the site. not yet tried food
Friendly, helpful staff who speak some English. Showers are a bit quirky, but they do work and the water is hot. The site is mainly given over to owners static caravans. The site is well maintained with a very useful well stocked shop and bar. WiFi hot zone works ok. Don’t let stories in previous reviews about cramped pitches put you off, it’s not that bad. Barking dogs on neighbouring properties can be very annoying, but obviously not the fault of the site owners. Cats can be a nuisance too, don’t leave any food outside unattended. Thankfully the barking wasn’t a big problem overnight.
A trip to Porto on the metro is a must do. It’s a lovely and interesting city especially along the Douro River.
We nearly didn’t stay here because of some reviews so glad we ignored them. Site was excellent. Staff great friendly helpful. Reception will call you a taxi to station €6 lots of people do this we shared with others there and back €4 return by train into Porto make sure you have coins to pay as card didn’t work and wouldn’t take notes. Site reception marked on map exactly where to go when you get to Porto. Nothing was too much trouble you could cycle or drive to station and leave car/bike there as it is at the shopping centre. Bar was friendly and drink prices cheap open even out of season. Games room with tv and Pool table. Small supermarket plenty of choice. Walk to beach with a few good bars and restaurants. Cycle track all along beach.
Staff were friendly and welcoming, situated near a lovely beach. The only problem I encountered was the hand washing facilities, I went for a shave and it was freezing cold as it was almost open to the elements and only one light was on and could barely see to have a shave.
We stayed here for 8 days for the price of 7 excellent value with friendly and helpful staff. Porto and Vila do Conde well worth visiting we cycled 3 times to Vila food really good bbq while you waited for the fish caught that day. Could do with squeegee mops for individuals to clean their showers after or request removal of footwear. Cycle to the outlet centre to catch metro as an alternative to taxi.
The listing of this campsite in the CC book is incorrect. It is not in a small fishing village, and the entry is misleading. The toilets and showers are dirty and need much more managing. There are signs of vandalism. Cleaning once a day is insufficient and the place is overcrowded, noisy and needs some better control. Staff are pleasant enough and there is a little shop on site. Pitches are small, dusty and cramped. Sadly not recommended.
We stayed here for two nights, quiet and rest, after a few busy days in Porto. As other reviews state, the pitches are very busy...you are shoehorned into a space! But we didn’t mind that. We were near the back of the site and used the renovated shower block which was superb. The shop is well stocked and the staff very friendly and helpful. They have a range of products with fresh bread daily. You get a token for a complimentary port wine drink on arrival. The bar is nice, with great staff. I recommend the “green wine”...fizzy white! The area out-with the campsite is lovely. Near fishing villages where the fish are brought up from the boats for sale in the mornings. Lovely walks or cycles along the long boardwalk. We didn’t suffer from dogs barking as in previous reviews...no more than on normal sites in Portugal where you can hear a dog or two nearby. Nothing to annoy us. It suited us ideally for a quiet catch up and stop over. I wouldn’t like to have stayed here eg a week as you were very close to other campervan etc.
its been a long time since this was a charming fishing village as most of it is now newish apartments but the harbour area itself is well worth a visit (left out of the campsite and down to the coast).
The Portuguese obviously have something about toilet seats and toilet paper as there was none in either block.
The touring pitches are not marked out and so I can imagine in the high season it would be crammed in like sardines, it was tight enough when we went in mid April.
The location of this campsite is rather strange being in the middle of a residential area with the associated dog barking etc. However the sandy beach is only a short walk away and more than compensates for this. The pitches are mainly grass but not marked out which results in just finding a large enough space for your unit and wedging yourself in. This in turn can put you very close to neighbours. There is nowhere on the site for dog walking so first thing in the morning and last thing at night routines are a bit problematic for dog owners. The facilities are adequate - there is an old toilet/shower block near the reception and a newer block at the back of the site. Water is moderately warm. The on-site bar is great and serves one of the best G&Ts I've ever had. There is a very good selection of Ports to try, all at reasonable prices. As for the staff, I have to make special mention of Tiago who proved to be the most helpful chap you could hope to meet. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he made this a very pleasant stay although I'm not sure, given the location, we would return in a hurry.
