Perhaps my ratings are a little harsh, but I was so annoyed at how I was treated. I booked in for two nights, this being my 11th site in an 8 week tour, and was surprised to be asked to pay up front - most others ask for payment on departure. After setting up, we checked the weather and found that the next day was cloudy and rain and so decided to move on. Within an hour of checking in I returned to the reception, only to advise there are no refunds! I was told I would have to take the matter up with a “ director” who was not in until the next day.
The next day, upon checking out I asked to see the “director” and was told she was not available. I reiterated my request but was told that I would have been told at the time of check-in that I should only book one night as refunds are not available - this was most definitely not the case. I asked the “director” to call me to discuss the matter so that I could negotiate a refund. Surprise surprise, no phone call was ever received; so that stay was the most expensive and most uncomfortable of my trip.
My recommendation is to avoid this site and use another of the many friendly sites in the area.
No bar or pool open, pitches good size, water and electric on each pitch. Stayed on the top terrace which seemed to be the best on the campsite for us, which had own toilet block which were very clean only downsize the windows faced the pitches.
This site is based in a wooded area the pool was only open at weekends and they had a lot of construction work going on . Good location for Nazare with transport out side camp. The toilet block was quite basic.
Specifically chose this site for wifi coverage as I had urgent business to attend to . WIFI coverage is limited, [advertised as 80% in fact not even 5%] to [freezing cold] cafe. Staff were first class, very friendly. Showers were luke warm at best.
Pitches quite small and possibly difficult for longer units to access. Free Wi-fi good on our pitch but think this varied. A pool party started in the afternoon 30 mins after we arrived, was extremely loud music and lasted a couple of hours. So a relaxing swim was impossible. Restaurant was a self service cafe...with a ball pool for children. Fairly close to the town but very steep hill down on bikes. We did find a lift up the cliff and a flattish route back..maybe if we had asked reception would have told us about this.
Site was generally good. Toilet facilities were ok and clean. No loo roll as usual. A lot of the pitches are on terraces but of a decent size and mainly under pine trees. Watch our for the occasional pine cone falling either naturally or helped on its way by squirrels. Our main dissapointment was the restaurant. It was of cafeteria style where you are served at the counter. There was no menu posted that we could see and no prices shown. We waited to be served but the gentlemen behind the counter decided to make a phone call and walked off. We left without eating. A good walk from the site to Nazare where the beaches are amazing and some very good restaurants can be found. We stayed for 2 nights and would probably stay again because of its location. Shame about the cafe/restaurant.
Site was quite busy even in June, staff were efficient and helpful. Some of the pitches were set in a dip under pine trees so seemed quite dark . Toilet facilities were clean but quite a hike up the hill if you were pitched down the bottom end. Swimming pool lovely, clean and plenty of loungers. We walked into Nazare downhill which took about 25mins. Lovely sandy beach and promenade, you can take a funicular carriage up to Sitio, wonderful views across the bay. Sitio has a lovely square with tourist shops. On the walk back to the site there are two large supermarkets.
Arrived late Sunday, 12/11/17, checked in,very professional, setup caravan, went into Nazare for dinner. Got back after dark only to find nearest toilet block closed!
Staff apologised next morning for mixup.
Site huge, numerous shower blocks for summer. Most of "facilities" closed for winter. The exception was the Restaurant, large portions of local food at very reasonable prices.
Good for visiting Nazare,, typically seaside, great beach, good cafés.
We did like our time in there...we are sure
that every body like there too.......when yuo
go to Nazare just sing in this campsite.
Easy edge of town location . Well kept site with great facilities. One way system around site a bit awkward and pitches layout not obvious - so take a couple of tours to choose yours. Once on pitch - all was well. WiFi is allegedly only available at reception or in cafe but we found a stable connection not too far from pool area on our pitch. Despite being near a main road - the noise was tolerable. We were here for 4 night during storm Leslie so we had a few pine cones on the roof!! Not far from the port of Nazaré or the magnificent waves (Praia Norte) but the roads and directions are not easy to follow. Great site - will come back.
