A beautifully located campsite halfway between Oslo and Bergen. From the E16 you descend 2 km to the fjord so there is no sound disturbance from the road. The natural surroundings here are wonderful. The fjord is full of fish which you are allowed to catch for free. Excellent heated toilet facilities and a friendly clubhouse.

Travelling party: Couple

Lovely site located by a lake (or is it a fjord?). Very many permanent caravans here, but very quiet out of season at end May.
Reception was very friendly with suggestions about the best place to pitch our motorhome. We ignored the suggestion and opted for the new pitches at the end of the site which are great, and when not busy it’s possible to connect up to water direct from the pitch. The downside of staying at the far end is that the sanitary facilities were a long way away: not fun carrying a toilet cassette in 28 degrees! The sanitary facilities were fine, but didn’t seem to be cleaned during our 24 hour stopover (they weren’t dirty though). The included shower was good and lasted 6 minutes (elsewhere we’ve struggled to finish in the allocated 3 minutes!). Nice indoor dining area for inclement weather.
Recommended.

Travelling party: Family with children, 4 – 12 years

This was a somewhat peculiar site, compared to the others we hit on our tour. We found a lovely spot by the lake, but needed assistance from our helpful neighbour to find some electricity that worked. It is a very big site with lots of permanent caravans and that did lead to swarms of wandering teenagers. There was mini golf and a flying fox for kids which was much enjoyed. It was a good place for a stop off, but not sure we would have wanted a long stay
